Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim Shri Ganga Prasad today attended a special book release function held at Guwahati,Assam. The book titled ”CHARAIVETI CHARAIVETI” , an autobiographical accounts of the life and struggles of Shri Ram Naik, Hon’ble Governor of Uttar  Pradesh,  in  its Assamese edition was released in a glittering function at Guwahati in presence of Governors of Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim. The function also had the special presence of Chief Minister of Assam Shri Sarvanand Sonowal and Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnavis among other distinguished dignitaries.

Including the Assemese edition released today, the popular book ‘ Charaiveti Charaiveti ‘ penned by Shri Ram Naik had its edition in ten different Indian languages released to date.

Addressing the gathering of literateurs and book enthusiasts gathered in the function, Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim Shri Ganga Prasad highlighted on the rise of Shri Naik from a humble background to a towering political figure. He urged the aspiring politicians and social workers to imbibe and keep at core the virtue of service to common man, if they want to rise in the political landscape of the 21st century. The concern and welfare of common man should come first for any public figure and sustained hard work irrespective of ups and downs in ones political prospects will propel one as leader par excellence. The title of the book Charaiveti Charaiveti, meaning, to move forward accepting challenges in life is what the life and deeds of Shri Ram Naik teaches us, Hon’ble  Governor added.

Similarly on his arrival in Guwahati in the evening on 5th July 2019, Hon’ble Governor attended a special interactive program ”Purvottar Parisamvad ” organised by a leading Hindi publication from New Delhi Chanakya Varta and Kendriya Hindi Nideshalaya and National Book Trust under Ministry of Human Resource Development,Government of India.

The keynote speakers from all eight northeastern states addressed the function which also had the amalgamation of cultural presentation from the respective states.

Addressing the session, Hon’ble Governor gave a brief insight into the history, culture, natural diversity, democratic transition and other aspects defining Sikkim as a unique state in the Indian Union. He outlined how a young and tiny Himalayan state with 7096 sq. km. area has made its mark in the country  with its rapid strides in developmental front registering impressive growth rate all along. Hon’ble Governor while highlighting the achievements of Sikkim in various sectors such as tourism, organic farming, clean energy through hydel projects, green initiatives, cleanliness and Swachhta parameters, women empowerment and rural housing. He also hailed Sikkim as the most peaceful state with lowest crime rate and state with zero law and order problem in the country.

Hon’ble Governor further mentioned the priority sectors of Sikkim and strategy for inclusive growth in future that state is poised to achieve with greater participation of educated youth. He stated that peace and stability working as hallmark of Sikkim will propel its growth further.
