MESSAGE

Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Ganga Prasad has extended warm greetings to the people of Sikkim on  the  occasion of 205th Bhanu Jayanti 2019.

Hon’ble Governor said, I take immense pleasure in  conveying my greetings on the occasion of 205th Bhanu Jayanti, a celebration with exemplary display of harmony, unity and brotherhood among different Sikkimese communities that has remained the hallmark of our society over the years. The work of Adikavi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya transcends beyond the barriers of region, language and community and has inspired the scholars and litterateurs across the linguistic world. He will be remembered always as an iconic poet, who with his immortal epic Nepali Ramayana, has bridged  the cultural and literary gap that existed between the Himalayan communities and the mainland India. His unparalleled efforts have strengthened the spiritual and moral foundation of our society.

On this happy occasion, I deem it worthwhile to remind you all about the harmony, brotherhood and mutual co-existence that has characterised Sikkimese society for ages and urge everyone to work towards fostering and enriching it further.  Let us all pay rich tribute to Adikavi  and rededicate ourselves towards the development and preservation of this great language and tradition.”
