MESSAGE

On the noble occasion of Teacher’s Day, Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Ganga Prasad has  extended warm greetings and good wishes to the people of Sikkim and teaching  fraternity in particular.

Hon’ble Governor said:  “The word teacher reflects immense significance and reverence in our culture and civilization where we place teachers alongside our deities whom we worship. The teachers are indeed the backbone of any progressive nation ever committed in the task of transforming raw and ignorant minds into enlightened and skilful  humans who are capable and responsible to take the nation forward in the path of progress and prosperity. Teaching is not merely a profession but a lifelong responsibility towards nation. No wonder, it is the most noble and respectable among one’s duty assigned to shape the destiny of a nation igniting the mind of future generation, regarded as the most valuable resource on earth.

As we remember the great deeds of teachers of the past and present, it is time for us to recognize and celebrate the contribution of teachers in our own lives. While the nation remain ever indebted, lets pay our sincere homage and respect to all those great souls who led us in the path of progress with the light  of knowledge and wisdom and transformed ours into a vibrant and enlightened society.”
