Hon’ble Governor Shri Ganga Prasad today granted audience to a group of 15 Officer Trainees and one instructor from 24th Assistant Commandant (G.D) Basic Course, Indo Tibetan Border Police Academy, Massoorie at New Raj Bhavan. Shri Anil Kumar Phool, Commandant ITBP 13th Bn., Shri Angad Pd. Yadav, CO ITBP Sector Headquarter Gangtok and other officers and personnel of ITBP were present on the occasion.
It was a courtesy call by the group which arrived in Sikkim on 6th September 2018 for a nine days Border Tour Programme along Indo-Tibetan Border as a part of their training module. The group will be visiting forward posts in North and East Sikkim, a mandatory exercise of their training schedule.
One of the accompanying instructor Assistant Commandant Shri Shri Tikam Negi, who is also the course director, provided a brief outline of the training module and activities to the Hon’ble Governor by power point presentation.
During a brief interaction with the trainee officers, Hon’ble Governor exhorted the trainee officers to feel proud to be chosen few to carry forward the legacy of selfless service and sacrifice of all our freedom fighters to live and die for the nation. He called upon them to take the responsibility being the young generation to take the country to the next pedestal of global leadership that India deserve in the 21st century. He added that the country will ever remain indebted to the valiant efforts and sacrifices put forward by the armed forces and our paramilitary forces to ensure safety and security of motherland.
Hon’ble Governor also conveyed his best wishes for their new assignments and postings on the completion of their training course. He also called upon them to utilise their learning in best possible way in the service of the country and countrymen.
