APPEAL

Following the declaration of Novel Coronavirus-19 disease as global pandemic by the World Health Organisation and rapid increase in its cases in our country, Hon’ble Governor has once again appealed all Sikkimese to take serious precautions and strictly follow the instructions and advisories issued by the Union and State Government time to time.

“We are aware of the alarming impact of NCOVID 19 and its casualties worldwide, its rapidly spreading footprint in our country as well, which has compelled us to re-strategize our preparedness and strengthen preventive measures. At this hour of global crisis, I appeal my fellow Sikkimese to avoid any congregation of people in public places and take all preventive measures at the individual as well as community level. For the time being, it would be wiser for us to avoid celebration of festivals, organising conferences, seminars or any such event which would attract large gatherings specially in schools, colleges and universities.

I urge my fellow Sikkimese to remain calm and united and follow all safety precautions. In the event of occurrence of any such symptoms to anyone in the family and locality it would be in the interest of individual and community health to immediately contact the nearest dedicated health centres created for the purpose. We have our responsibility to collectively tackle this menace by spreading awareness and enhancing our preparedness thereby preventing its spread in our State.”
