Gangtok, Sikkim

On the auspicious occasion of Deepawali, Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Ganga Prasad has extended heartiest greetings and best wishes to the people of Sikkim.

In his greetings Hon’ble Governor said, “the   festival of Diwali is symbolic to hope of better, brighter and prosperous tomorrow. It is synonym to the annual moment of joy for all of us to celebrate with friends, family and well-wishers sharing goodwill, compassion and mutual respect. The lighting of lamps has a deep rooted philosophy in  Indian culture and symbolises the act of dispelling darkness from our lives.

As we prepare ourselves to embrace this joyful moment, let us strive to keep our surrounding clean and pollution free. Let us pledge for a safe and pollution free Diwali.  I also take this opportunity to extend my Diwali greetings to the members of the armed forces, whose vigilance round the clock at the borders, enable us to  celebrate the festivals with assurance of peace and security.

May the divine light of Diwali spread peace, prosperity, happiness and good health in the lives of every Sikkimese.”
