Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim Shri Shriniwas Patil  today granted audience to a twelve member delegation of National Human Rights & Crime Control Organisation, Sikkim Unit at Raj Bhavan. The delegation was led by Shri Tanvir Ahmed, National Secretary of the organisation.

            Shri Birendra Prasad, General Secretary of the Sikkim Unit  apprised the Hon’ble Governor about the organisation and its mandate to work in tandem with the government authorities. The organisation is mandated to work on the issues of human rights, human trafficking, child labour and corruption   in the State.

            While sharing his experience of serving the common people, Hon’ble Governor encouraged them to assist the poor and the needy   on various social issues such as health, sanitation, education, nutrition, legal matters, addiction and abuse from their own level. He also advised the members to record their activities for the community and share their experience   on a regular interval of time. Hon’ble Governor   asked each and every members to make sure that society benefits from their activities and the organisation is recognised as organisation for the masses. Assuring all possible support on their activities in the interest of common citizen of the State, Hon’ble Governor also extended best wishes for their collective endeavours.
