       Shri S.S Deshwal, Director  General, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, called on the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Ganga Prasad today at  Raj Bhavan.   He was accompanied by  IG ITBP Shri M.S Rawat, DIG Sector Headquarters, Gangtok Shri K.D Dwivedi and officers from Gangtok sector on the occasion.       

It was a courtesy call by  Shri Deswalwho  is on a four  days visit to BOPs along Sikkim northern and eastern border. In a brief interaction with Hon’ble Governor, Shri Deshwal expressed happiness on the excellent coordination of force  with the state government and civil population in Sikkim. Referring that the force works at the  high altitude in extreme weather and terrain, he also expressed satisfaction on the services and logistics extended  to the BOPs  by state government including power supply.

Hon’ble Governor acknowledged the contribution of ITBP as the first line of defence along  the country’s northern border including Sikkim and lauded the service of force to civil population with special mention of relief and rescue operations during natural calamities. He further added that he would be happy to visit them to boost their morale and to celebrate special occasions with Jawans.
