आज राजभवन  परिसर में  सिक्किम के माननीय राज्यपाल  श्री लक्ष्मण प्रसाद आचार्य से गृह विभाग की सचिव, श्रीमती ताशी छो छो ने  शिष्टाचार मुलाकात की।  इस भेंट के दौरान सचिव महोदया ने माननीय राज्यपाल को G20 का बैच  प्रदान करते हुए सिक्किम में  आयोजित आगामी 16 मार्च एवं 18 मार्च 2023 की G20 बैठक के  कार्यक्रमों  और भूमिका  के बारे में जानकारी  प्रदान की |विदित हो कि भारत 1 दिसंबर 2022 से जी20 की अध्यक्षता कर रहा है, जिसका विषय वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम - एक पृथ्वी एक परिवार एक भविष्य है|  सिक्किम इसकी  मेजबानी करने वाले राज्यों में से एक  राज्य है जिसके तहत सिक्किम के गंगटोक में दो बैठकें होनी हैं। इसी कड़ी में, जी20 के बारे में अपने संक्षिप्त नोट में, उन्होंने पहली बैठक16 मार्च 2023  में बिजनेस 20 (बी20) के तहत "पर्यटन, आतिथ्य और फार्मास्युटिकल क्षेत्र और जैविक खेती में बहुपक्षीय व्यापार साझेदारी के अवसरों पर सम्मेलन" में  लगभग 24 देशों  तथा 36 प्रतिनिधियों  का उल्लेख किया जिसकी मेजबानी  भारतीय उद्योग संघ कर रहा है | इसी तरह 18 मार्च 2023 को दूसरी बैठक "स्टार्टअप 20 सिक्किम सभा", जिसकी मेजबानी वाणिज्य और उद्योग मंत्रालय के तत्वाधान  में उद्योग और आंतरिक व्यापार संवर्धन विभाग द्वारा की जा रही है, जहां 13 देश और 28 स्टार्टअप प्रतिनिधि भाग लेने वाले हैं।

सिक्किम के लिए इसे एक ऐतिहासिक अवसर बताते हुए माननीय राज्यपाल महोदय ने कहा कि यह हर सिक्किमवासी के लिए अत्यंत गर्व की बात है और  G-20 समिट को लेकर, सिक्किम सरकार और सिक्किमवासी अपनी अनूठी संस्कृति, परंपराओं, कला, शिल्प कौशल, भोजन और   अन्य विशिष्ट प्रतिभाओं को विश्व मंच पर प्रदर्शित करने के लिए अति उत्सुक और उत्साहित हैं| “वसुधैव कुटुंबकम के मंत्र के जरिए विश्व बंधुत्व की भावना को मजबूती प्रदान करते हुए समस्त सिक्किम वासी जी 20 के  प्रतिनिधियों को सिक्किम में पूरे समृद्धि और हृदय की गहराइयों से स्वागत करता है| सिक्किम अपनी समृद्ध संस्कृति और यहां की विविधता को पेश करने के प्रति पूर्ण रूप से संकल्पित है|” माननीय राज्यपाल महोदय ने कहा

As India stages up its role as the Presidency for G20 Summit and Sikkim is one of the states to host it. The Secretary Home Department Smt. Tashi Cho Cho paid a courtesy visit to the Honorable Governor of Sikkim at Raj Bhawan today. During the visit, she pinned the official lapel pin of the G20 Summit to the Honorable Governor, followed by a briefing about G20 Summit and its events that are going to take place in Sikkim. In her brief note about G20 Summit, she highlighted the two meetings that are to be held in Gangtok, Sikkim. The first meeting will be held under Business 20 (B20 ) "Conference on opportunities for multilateral business partnerships in Tourism, Hospitality and Pharmaceutical Sector & Organic farming" on the 16th of March 2023 at Chintan Bhawan which is being hosted by CII (Confederation of Indian Industry ).

 The second meeting "Startup20 Sikkim Sabha" which is being hosted by DPIIT- Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, under the aegis of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries will be held on the 18th of March 2023 at Chintan Bhawan.

 The Honorable Governor was delighted about Sikkim is one of the hosts of the G20 Summit. He expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Government of Sikkim and the entire Sikkimese people and welcomed all the delegates including all the participating countries. Furthermore, he stated that the hosting of the G20 Summit is not only historic but a great matter of pride for the entire Sikkimese. It creates a platform for "divided opportunity" for Sikkim and Sikkimese people. The Government and people of Sikkim are upbeat and excited about G20 Summit and they are delighted to show their unique culture, traditions, arts, craftsmanship, cuisine and various other exclusive talents of Sikkim on the world stage and want to make it a very successful event.
