    Raj Bhavan Sikkim commemorated the foundation day of Maharashtra and Gujarat in harmony with India’s vibrant cultural diversity and the visionary spirit of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.

    Commencing the program, attendees were virtually addressed by the Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat, Shri Acharya Devvrat Ji, who highlighted Gujarat’s rich culture, illustrious history, eminent personalities, and the state’s significant contributions to nation-building.

    Secretary Raj Bhavan, Shri J.D. Bhutia, in his address, extended felicitations on the State Foundation Day of Maharashtra and Gujarat. Emphasizing the invaluable resources of both states, he underscored their pivotal role in the nation’s development. From Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, to the present Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, he noted the legacy of strong leadership emanating from these states and their contributions to modern India and economic growth.

    A cultural program, featuring performances by SSB jawans and Raj Bhavan employees, showcased the rich cultural heritage of Maharashtra and Gujarat through Gujarati and Marathi folk dances, resonating deeply with the audience.

    The welcome address was delivered by PRO (English) Deeki Pema, followed by a vote of thanks from Deputy Secretary Raj Bhavan, Shri Diwas Gautam. The program was conducted by PRO Raj Bhavan, Smt. Mamta Awasthy.

    The event was attended by residents of Gujarat and Maharashtra, along with SSB Sector Head Quarter’s Second in Command, Sunil Kumar, NDRF officers, ITBP officers and jawans, as well as faculty members and students from various universities.
