01.07.2025 : The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Sikkim Manipal University, Gangtok (SMU), Dr. Gopalakrishna Prabhu, paid a courtesy call on the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim at Raj Bhavan, today.
The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Sikkim Manipal University, Gangtok (SMU), Dr. Gopalakrishna Prabhu, paid a courtesy call on the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim Shri Om Prakash Mathur at Raj Bhavan, today.
Dr. Prabhu had his first formal meeting with the Hon’ble Governor after appointing as the Vice-Chancellor of the University. During the meeting, they held a detailed discussion on National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and various matter related to the university.
The Hon’ble Governor congratulated Dr Gopalakrishna and wished him for new assignment and expressed confidence that under his guidance and leadership, the university would reach new heights of success.
Dr. Prabhu was accompanied by Air Vice Marshal (Rted.) Dr. Dilip Chandra Agarwal, who completed his distinguished tenure as SMU Vice Chancellor on June 30, 2025.
The Hon’ble Governor acknowledged Dr. Agarwal’s commendable service and contributions to the University, and conveyed his good wishes for Dr. Agarwal’s future endeavours and continued good health. During the meeting, Dr. Sandeep Kashyap, Laison Officer of SMU was also present.
आज सिक्किम के माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर से सिक्किम मणिपाल विश्वविद्यालय के नव नियुक्त कुलपति डॉ. गोपालकृष्ण प्रभु ने कार्यभार ग्रहण करने से पूर्व राजभवन में शिष्टाचार भेंट की।
माननीय राज्यपाल ने डॉ. गोपालकृष्ण प्रभु को नई जिम्मेदारी के लिए बधाई दी और उनके नेतृत्व में विश्वविद्यालय के और अधिक ऊँचाइयों तक पहुँचने की आशा व्यक्त की। इस दौरान डॉ. प्रभु के साथ सिक्किम मनिपाल विश्विद्यालय के पूर्व कुलपति, एयर वाइस मार्शल (सेवानिवृत्त) डॉ. दिलीप चंद्र अग्रवाल भी उपस्थित रहे जिन्होंने 30 जून 2025 को विश्विद्यालय के कुलपति के रूप में अपना कार्यकाल पूर्ण किया।
माननीय राज्यपाल ने डॉ. अग्रवाल को उनके उत्तम स्वास्थ्य और आगामी भविष्य के लिए शुभकामनाएँ दीं हैं।
