01.07.2025 : Hon’ble Governor Graces the Final Match of the Snowlion T20 League at Sikkim Cricket Ground, Mining, Rangpo

The Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim graced the final match of the first Snowlion T20 League as the Chief Guest. The event, organised by the Sikkim Cricket Association, was held at the Sikkim Cricket Ground in Mining, Rangpo.

The final match of the league was played between Cricket Association Tathangchen and IRISIS, Jorethang. The Hon’ble Governor extended his best wishes to the players of both teams, personally greeting them and encouraging them to uphold the spirit of true sportsmanship.

The Hon’ble Governor congratulated the organising committee for the successful conduct of the league and encouraged that such events be held on a larger scale in the future to further promote a culture of sports in the region.

The event was attended by Shri Tika Subba, President of the Sikkim Cricket Association, along with other officials, government dignitaries, and sports enthusiasts.

Following the programme, the Hon’ble Governor visited the ‘Prerna Sthal’ at Bardang, where he paid homage to the martyrs at the War Memorial and honoured their supreme sacrifice for the nation.

On this occasion, he reviewed the progress of the ongoing expansion works at the Prerna Sthal and was briefed by the concerned officials on the current construction activities. The Hon’ble Governor emphasised the need to ensure the timely completion of the project.

स्नोलायन टी20 लीग के फाइनल में सिक्किम क्रिकेट ग्राउंड, माइनिंग, रंगपो में माननीय राज्यपाल की गरिमामयी उपस्थिति

सिक्किम क्रिकेट एसोसिएशन द्वारा आयोजित स्नोलायन टी20 लीग के पहले संस्करण के फाइनल मुकाबले में आज माननीय राज्यपाल ने मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में भाग लिया। यह आयोजन सिक्किम क्रिकेट ग्राउंड, माइनिंग, रंगपो में संपन्न हुआ, जिसमें राज्यभर से आए क्रिकेट प्रेमियों की उत्साहपूर्ण उपस्थिति रही।

कार्यक्रम का आरंभ पारंपरिक स्वागत से हुआ। इसके पश्चात राज्यपाल महोदय को सिक्किम पुलिस द्वारा सलामी दी गई।
आज का फाइनल मुकाबला क्रिकेट एसोसिएशन ताथांगचेन बनाम IRISIS, जोरथांग के मध्य खेला गया, जिसमें जोश वर्धन के लिए माननीय राज्यपाल ने दोनों टीमों के खिलाड़ियों से हाथ मिलाते हुए अपनी शुभकामनाएं दीं।

अपने संबोधन में राज्यपाल महोदय ने कहा कि खेल केवल प्रतिस्पर्धा नहीं, बल्कि अनुशासन, समर्पण और टीम भावना का प्रतीक है। सिक्किम के युवाओं में खेल के प्रति जो ऊर्जा और प्रतिबद्धता मैंने देखी, वह राज्य के उज्ज्वल भविष्य की ओर संकेत करती है।
उन्होंने आयोजन समिति को इस सफल आयोजन के लिए बधाई दी और भविष्य में ऐसे आयोजनों को और अधिक व्यापक स्तर पर आयोजित करने का सुझाव भी दिया।

इस दौरान सिक्किम क्रिकेट एसोसिएशन के अध्यक्ष श्री टीका सुब्बा, अन्य सदस्य, सरकारी अधिकारी एवं क्रिकेट प्रेमी उपस्थित रहे।
कार्यक्रम के उपरांत, माननीय राज्यपाल ने बरदांग स्थित ‘प्रेरणा स्थल’ का दौरा किया। उन्होंने ‘वार मेमोरियल’ में शहीदों को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की और राष्ट्र के प्रति उनके सर्वोच्च बलिदान को नमन किया।
इस अवसर पर उन्होंने प्रेरणा स्थल के विस्तार कार्यों की प्रगति की समीक्षा की और संबंधित अधिकारियों से वर्तमान निर्माण गतिविधियों की जानकारी प्राप्त की। राज्यपाल महोदय ने कार्य की समयबद्धता सुनिश्चित करने पर बल दिया।
