Commemorating the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, and Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, former Prime Minister of India, the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, offered floral tributes to the statue and portraits of these great leaders.

Expressing his deep gratitude, the Hon’ble Governor fondly recalled their timeless contributions to the nation and emphasized the enduring relevance of their ideals. He urged everyone to follow in their footsteps by upholding the values of truth, non-violence, simplicity, and selfless service, while striving to build an inclusive and harmonious society.

आज राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गांधी और भारत के पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री श्री लाल बहादुर शास्त्री की जयंती के अवसर पर सिक्किम के माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर ने राजभवन में स्थित महात्मा गांधी की मूर्ति एवं श्री लाल बहादुर शास्त्री की प्रतिमा पर पुष्पांजलि अर्पित की।

अपनी श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करते हुए माननीय राज्यपाल ने महात्मा गांधी और श्री लाल बहादुर शास्त्री के राष्ट्र निर्माण में योगदान को स्मरण किया। उन्होंने कहा कि इन महान विभूतियों के विचार आज भी हमारे सामाजिक जीवन और राष्ट्र के लिए मार्गदर्शक हैं।

इस अवसर पर राजभवन के अधिकारियों एवं कर्मचारियों की उपस्थिति रही।
