04.03.2026 : The Governor Shri Om Prakash Mathur celebrated the Holi festival with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) officers and jawans of the 13th Battalion of the ITBP at Lingdong under Gangtok district today.
Extending his Holi greetings to the officers and jawans in his brief address, Shri Om Prakash Mathur praised their dedication and commitment to the nation and lauded them for protecting the country while braving extreme weather conditions. He expressed pride in spending time with the armed forces, stating that their resilience and unwavering spirit inspire him. He stated that celebrating Holi and other festivals with armed forces is one of the happiest moments for him.
The Governor applied tilak with gulal on officers and jawans’ foreheads and distributed sweets to them.
On the occasion, Rajendra Singh Rajput, Second-in-Command along with other officers and jawans, were present.
The Governor further held interaction with ITBP personnel.
सिक्किम के माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर ने आज 13वीं बटालियन, आईटीबीपी, लिंगडोंग बस्ती के वीर जवानों के साथ होली का पर्व उल्लासपूर्वक मनाया।
राज्यपाल महोदय ने जवानों के साथ रंग-गुलाल लगाया, मिठाइयाँ बाँटी और संवाद किया। इस दौरान राजेन्द्र सिंह राजपूत, सेकंड इन कमांड एवं ऑफिसर कमांडिंग 13वीं बटालियन आईटीबीपी सहित अधिकारियों और जवानों की उपस्थिति रही।
माननीय राज्यपाल ने कहा कि मेरे मन की इच्छा थी कि मैं आप सबके साथ होली मनाऊँ। आज यह अवसर पाकर मैं स्वयं को गौरवान्वित महसूस कर रहा हूँ। उन्होंने आगे कहा कि आप देश की सुरक्षा में तैनात रहकर अपने घर-परिवार से दूर हैं, ताकि राष्ट्र सुरक्षित रहे। ‘देश प्रथम’ की भावना का आप साकार रूप है और सीमावर्ती क्षेत्र आपके कारण सुरक्षित है।
राज्यपाल महोदय ने यह भी कहा कि आपके साथ पर्व मनाना मेरे लिए गर्व और सम्मान की बात है। रंगों का यह उत्सव आज नई ऊर्जा और प्रेरणा लेकर आया है।
जवानों ने राज्यपाल महोदय का आभार व्यक्त किया। पूरे वातावरण में उल्लास, देशभक्ति और भाईचारे की भावना का संचार हुआ।
