04.11.2026 : The Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim Shri Dushyant Gautam visited the Old Age Home, Jalipool today.

The Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim Shri Dushyant Gautam visited the Old Age Home, Jalipool today. During the visit the Hon’ble Governor celebrated Diwali festival in advance with elderly people residing in Old Age Home and extended them Diwali greetings.

The Hon’ble Governor interacted with the inmates and caretaker Shri Mani Ram Rai of the Old Age Home and enquired about the health of elderly people and other inmates. On the occassion, he distributed sweets and wished them a Happy Diwali.

Addressing the elderly people, the Hon’ble Governor stated that elders are the guiding light of society and underscored the collective responsibility of all to bring happiness to their lives and ensure that they feel valued, respected and remain an integral part of society.

The Hon’ble Governor also reviewed the facilities available at the Old Age Home and enquired detailed information from the management committee related to healthcare facilities, food quality and other arrangements.

He also inspected the premises of the old age home, dormitory and the common area.

The Hon’ble Governor commended the selfless service and dedication of the care taker and other staff.

The Social Welfare department Secretary, Smt. Sarika Pradhan along with other senior officials were also present.

Similarly, the Governor visited Kanchi Kamakoti temple and offered his prayers for the well-being, peace and prosperity of everyone

माननीय राज्यपाल श्री दुष्यन्त गौतम ने जालीपुल स्थित वृद्धाश्रम का किया दौरा; बुजुर्गों के साथ मनाई दीपावली, लिया आशीर्वाद

सिक्किम के माननीय राज्यपाल श्री दुष्यन्त गौतम ने आज रानीपुल स्थित वृद्धाश्रम का दौरा किया और वहां रह रहे वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के साथ मिलकर दीपावली की खुशियां बांटी।
राज्यपाल महोदय ने आश्रम के सभी बुजुर्गों से व्यक्तिगत रूप से मुलाकात कर उन्हें दीपावली की हार्दिक शुभकामनाएं दीं और उनका कुशलक्षेम जानते हुए बुजुर्गों के अनुभवों को सुना।
इस अवसर पर माननीय राज्यपाल ने सभी वरिष्ठ नागरिकों को मिठाइयां खिलाई जिसके बदले वरिष्ठ नागरिकों ने माननीय राज्यपाल महोदय के सिर पर हाथ रखकर उन्हें अपना
आशीर्वाद दिया।
वरिष्ठ नागरिकों को संबोधित करते हुए माननीय राज्यपाल ने कहा कि बुजुर्ग हमारे समाज की अमूल्य धरोहर और मार्गदर्शक हैं। उनके चेहरे पर मुस्कान लाना और उन्हें यह अहसास कराना कि वे समाज का एक अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा हैं, हम सभी का सामूहिक कर्तव्य है। राज्यपाल महोदय ने आश्रम के संचालकों से वहां उपलब्ध चिकित्सा सुविधाओं, खान-पान और बुजुर्गों की दैनिक देखभाल की व्यवस्थाओं के बारे में भी विस्तृत जानकारी ली।
माननीय राज्यपाल ने आश्रम के संचालक एवं कर्मचारियों की निस्वार्थ सेवा भाव और निष्ठा को सराहनीय बताया है।
इस दौरान समाज कल्याण विभाग की सचिव श्रीमती सारिका प्रधान, अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों की उपस्थिती रही।
इसके अलावा, माननीय राज्यपाल ने कांची कामाकोटी मंदिर का भी दौरा किया, जहाँ उन्होंने पूजा-अर्चना की और सभी नागरिकों की सुख-समृद्धि के लिए प्रार्थना की।
