Former Sikkim Chief Minister Shri Pawan Kumar Chamling, accompanied by SDF party members, called on the Hon’ble Governor Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya at Raj Bhavan today.

The Former Chief Minister briefed the Hon’ble Governor on the March 1, 2024, incident in Melli, where former speaker Shri KN Rai and others were assaulted by some individuals.

The Hon’ble Governor has assured members that peace and harmony in the state have always been of paramount importance. Urging faith in law and order as well as the investigating agencies, he stated that police and investigating agencies are committed to the people of the State. Emphasizing the importance of peaceful elections, the Hon’ble Governor reiterated the assurance that the upcoming elections will be conducted smoothly and conveyed his best wishes for a quick recovery to Shri KN Rai.
