Empowerment of the First Border Village ‘Dichu’ Initiated by the Hon’ble Governor

Dichu, the first border village of the country, located near Dok-La Post at the tri-junction of India, China, and Bhutan, has witnessed a historic initiative.

On January 4, 2025, the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, visited “Dichu” village near
Dok-La forward post. He met with the residents of the village and learned that the village still lacked access to electricity. Addressing this critical issue without delay, he directed the GOC of the 17 Mountain Division, Major General M.S. Rathore, to address the challenges faced by the villagers.

Following the directions of the Hon’ble Governor, the Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army promptly acted on the matter and ensured the supply of electricity to the border village of Dichu. With the implementation of this initiative, not only have the basic needs of the residents been fulfilled, but the availability of electricity has also brought new direction and energy to the lives of the people residing there. Additionally, the tin roofs of the local homes were painted, further contributing to the improvement of living conditions.

This initiative has greatly uplifted the morale of the villagers of Dichu. The residents have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble Governor and the Indian Army. The village is now not only illuminated but also stands as a shining example of the empowerment of remote and border areas. This remarkable accomplishment was made possible through the capable leadership and vision of the Hon’ble Governor and the dedicated efforts of the Indian Army.

The Hon’ble Governor has extended his sincere appreciation to the Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army for this commendable work.

माननीय राज्यपाल की पहल से पहला सीमांत गांव ‘डिचू’ का सशक्तिकरण

डोकला चौकी के पास, भारत, चीन और भूटान की सीमा पर स्थित देश के पहले सीमांत गांव “डिचू” एक ऐतिहासिक पहल का साक्षी बना है ।
4 जनवरी,2025 के दिन सिक्किम के माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर ने डोक-ला चौकी का दौरा किया था।वापसी के दौरान उन्होंने पहले सीमांत गांव “डिचू” के स्थानीय लोगों से बातचीत की और यह पाया गया कि इस गांव में अब तक बिजली की सुविधा उपलब्ध नहीं थी। इस महत्वपूर्ण विषय को तत्काल सम्बोधित करते हुए 17 माउंटेन डिवीजन के जीओसी मेजर जनरल एम.एस.राठौड़ से आग्रह किया गया कि इस चुनौती का समाधान निकाला जाए।

भारतीय सेना की त्रिशक्ति कोर ने माननीय राज्यपाल के इस अनुरोध को गंभीरता से लेते हुए तत्परता से कार्य किया। सीमांत गांव “डिचू” में बिजली की आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित कर, उन्होंने न केवल वहां के निवासियों की मूलभूत आवश्यकताओं को पूरा किया, बल्कि उनके जीवन को नई दिशा और ऊर्जा प्रदान की है ।इसके अलावा,स्थानीय लोगों के टीन से बनी छत की पुताई भी की है।
इस पहल ने डिचू के निवासियों काफी उत्साहित हैं और उन्होंने माननीय राज्यपाल सहित भारतीय सेना का आभार व्यक्त किया है।अब यह गांव न केवल रोशनी से रोशन हुआ है, बल्कि यह पहल सुदूर और सीमांत क्षेत्रों के सशक्तिकरण का उदाहरण भी है।माननीय राज्यपाल के सक्षम मार्गदर्शन में और भारतीय सेना के प्रयास से यह कार्य संभव हुआ है।

माननीय राज्यपाल ने भारतीय सेना की त्रिशक्ति कोर को इस कार्य के लिए साधुवाद दिया है।
