Raj Bhavan, Sikkim, under the guidance and leadership of the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, observed Armed Forces Flag Day today. This annual occasion organized by the Rajya Sainik Board to honour the martyrs and valiant members of the armed forces who have dedicated their lives to safeguarding the nation, making immense sacrifices for the motherland.
Present at the observance were Shri J.D. Bhutia, Secretary to the Hon’ble Governor, Col. Vijay Basnett (Retd.), Secretary of the Rajya Sainik Board, and other officials from the Rajya Sainik Board. A lapel pin was presented to the Hon’ble Governor, by an official from Rajya Sainik Board. Hon’ble Governor made his contribution to the Flag Fund on behalf of Raj Bhavan to mark the Armed Forces Flag Day.
On this occasion, the Hon’ble Governor emphasised the importance of Armed Forces Flag Day as a solemn opportunity to pay tribute to the brave and martyred soldiers who play a critical role in safeguarding the nation. He expressed his gratitude to the armed forces community and extended his best wishes to the Rajya Sainik Board for their continued efforts.
