On the occasion of Tendong Lho Rum Faat, Sikkim Governor, Shri Om Prakash Mathur has extended warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Sikkim especially Lepcha community.
In his message, Governor said, “On the occasion of Tendong Lho Rum Faat, I extend my warm greetings to the people of the State. Tendong Lho Rum Faat is celebrated in Sikkim with great fervour and enthusiasm. It is an occasion when nature in all its varied forms is worshipped and celebrated.
Nature conservation and coexistence is a part of our culture. The Lepcha community mark this day by paying homage to the sacred ‘Tendong Hill’, which considered as ‘Mayel Lyang or Heaven’.
This indigenous festival, represents Sikkimese cultural ethos and value that we associate with mother nature. This festival generates an ennobling impact on humans and also illustrates the enduring respect, reverence and importance which the Sikkimese people attach towards nature.
Tendong Lho Rum Faat is one of our most sacred and historic festivals. Thiis festival reflects a profound reverence for Mother Earth, nature, and community harmony.
The festival has an opportunity to display our unique cultural heritage of Sikkim which strengthens the values of peace, harmony, equality, and service in society.
It inspires us to preserve our rich cultural heritage and to live in harmony with one another.
Let us rededicate ourselves to protect and preserve our tradition of protecting and enriching our mother nature.”

सिक्किम के माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर ने ‘तेन्दोंग -ल्हो -रुम- फात’
के पावन अवसर पर सिक्किम वासियों को विशेष रूप से लेप्चा समुदाय को बधाई और शुभकामनाएं दीं हैं ।
अपने संदेश में माननीय राज्यपाल ने कहा, “लेप्चा समुदाय द्वारा मनाए जाने वाला “तेन्दोंग -ल्हो -रुम- फात’ पर्व प्रकृति की आराधना का प्रतीक है, जो हमें पर्यावरण के प्रति कृतज्ञता और सम्मान व्यक्त करने की सीख देता है। इस अवसर पर लेप्चा समुदाय माउंट तेन्दोंग पर्वत की श्रद्धापूर्वक पूजा-अर्चना करते हैं और संकट के समय मानव जीवन की रक्षा करने के लिए प्रकृति के प्रति अपनी गहरी आस्था प्रकट करते हैं। यह उत्सव मनुष्य और प्रकृति के बीच के अटूट संबंधों को और अधिक प्रगाढ़ बनाने का संदेश देता है।
हमारा प्रदेश प्रकृति संरक्षण, समृद्ध सांस्कृतिक विरासत और ‘विविधता में एकता’ का जिवंत उदाहरण है जहां विभिन्न समुदाय अपनी अनूठी परंपराएं और रीति-रिवाज मिलकर पालन करते हैं और राज्य के सामाजिक ताने-बाने को मजबूती प्रदान करते हैं।
