The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Trishakti Corps, Lt General Man Raj Singh Mann, called on the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, at Raj Bhavan today.
This was the first meeting of Lt General Man Raj Singh Mann with Hon’ble Governor after assuming his office of the Corps on 1st October 2025.
Lt General Mann had earlier commanded a Division in North Sikkim during the Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF) of 2023, wherein the Indian Army played a pivotal role in relief and rescue operations.
During the meeting, the Hon’ble Governor extended his heartiest congratulations to Lt General Mann on his assumption of command and conveyed his best wishes for a successful and fulfilling tenure.
An invitation was also extended to the Hon’ble Governor to grace the Inauguration of the National Flag at the Prerna Sthal, Bardang, as the Chief Guest scheduled to be held on 11.10.2025.
The Hon’ble Governor graciously accepted the invitation and expressed his deep appreciation for the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment, discipline, and selfless service towards the security and progress of the nation.
Lt General was accompanied by the GOC, 17th Mountain Division, Major General M. S. Rathore and also present during the meeting was Commissioner cum Secretary to the Hon’ble Governor, Shri Jitendra Singh Raje.
आज राजभवन में त्रिशक्ति कोर के नव नियुक्त जनरल ऑफिसर कमांडिंग लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल मन राज सिंह मान (एस एम *) ने ब्लैक कैट डिविजन के मेजर जनरल एम.एस. राठौर ( एस एम, वी एस एम) के साथ सिक्किम के माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर से शिष्टाचार भेंट की।
यह भेंट सिंगताम के बरदांग स्थित प्रेरणा स्थल पर आगामी राष्ट्रीय ध्वज उद्घाटन समारोह की तैयारियों को लेकर विशेष रूप से महत्वपूर्ण रही, जिसके दौरान लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल ने माननीय राज्यपाल को कार्यक्रम हेतु आमंत्रित किया, जिसे राज्यपाल महोदय ने अपनी स्वीकृति प्रदान की।
राज्यपाल महोदय 11 अक्टूबर को प्रेरणा स्थल में 70 फीट ऊंचे राष्ट्रीय ध्वज का उद्घाटन करेंगे।
इस ध्वज की स्थापना पर्यटन विभाग, फ्लैग फाउंडेशन ऑफ इंडिया और भारतीय सेना के त्रिशक्ति कोर के सामूहिक प्रयासों से की जा रही है।
प्रेरणा स्थल उन 22 वीर भारतीय सैनिकों की स्मृति में राजभवन, सिक्किम की ओर से निर्मित किया गया है, जिन्होंने 4 अक्टूबर 2023 को सिक्किम की तीस्ता नदी में आई विनाशकारी बाढ़ के दौरान अपने कर्तव्यों का पालन करते हुए वीरगति प्राप्त की।
