The Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur have extended best wishes and warm greetings to the people of Sikkim, particularly the Mangar Community on the occasion of Barahimizong festival.

In his greetings, the Governor said, “The festival of Barahimizong is great religious and cultural significance for the Mangar community as it is that time of the year when they come together to pay homage to their forefathers and Kuldevtas. This festival is an annual occasion to express gratitude to almighty for continued blessings throughout the year by offering fresh harvest and at the same time seek good fortune for the coming days.

May almighty bless my fellow Sikkimese with eternal prosperity with bountiful harvest year after year. May the divinity that remains at the core of Sikkimese ethos and values permeate all sentient beings.”
