Raj Bhavan Sikkim hosted its customary “At Home” function in celebration of the 78th Independence Day, graced by the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur.
The function commenced with a welcome address by Shri Jigmee Dorjee Bhutia, Secretary to the Hon’ble Governor. In his address, he expressed his sincere appreciation for the Hon’ble Governor’s presence, underscoring it as a testament to Sikkim’s progress towards development and a source of both reassurance and inspiration. He also extended his gratitude to all the distinguished guests and emphasized the pride Raj Bhavan takes in hosting them.
Furthermore, he also highlighted that under the guidance of the Hon’ble Governor, there remains a steadfast commitment to achieving the goals outlined for Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
The event featured patriotic songs and cultural performances presented by the Department of Culture, showcasing Sikkim’s rich cultural diversity. Additionally, V Matrix Academy from Singtam contributed with patriotic dance.
In the Vote of Thanks, Shri Khemraj Bhattarai, Additional Secretary to the Hon’ble Governor, expressed his gratitude to all attendees. He acknowledged the Department of Culture for their vibrant display of patriotism and diversity and extended his appreciation to V Matrix Academy for their presentation of “Kargil Diwas,” marking the 25th anniversary of the sacrifices made by brave soldiers for the nation.
The “At Home” function was attended by the Chief Justice of Sikkim, Members of the Cabinet, Members of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Deputy Mayor, the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, Additional Chief Secretaries, Heads of Departments, DC Gangtok, SP Gangtok, National Awardees, State Awardees, and other distinguished dignitaries.
