16.11.2025 : Greetings of the Hon’ble Governor Shri Om Prakash Mathur on the occasion of National Press Day.

The Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur has extended his warm greetings to the press and media fraternity on National Press Day.

In his greetings, the Governor said, “The National Press Day, which is celebrated every year on 16th November, draws our attention to freedom and responsibilities of the press. The Press and Media, with its transparency and accountability is truly the Fourth Pillar of democracy.

I hope that the occasion will inspire every journalist to maintain the highest standards of constructive news reporting. I also urge the media to take a pledge to promote peace, progress and democratic values in our society.
