17.03.2026: The Chairman of the Sikkim Film Board, the Chairman of the IPR Department, and the Secretary of the IPR Department, called on the Governor of Sikkim at Lok Bhavan this evening.

The Chairman of Sikkim Film Board, Shri Tashi Tshering, the Chairman of Information and Public Relations (IPR) department, Shri Ashit Rai and the Secretary of IPR department, Smt Annapurna Alley called on the Governor of Sikkim at Lok Bhavan this evening.

During the courtesy call on, they extended an invitation to the Governor to grace the inauguration of Sikkim International Film Festival 2026 as the chief guest at Manan Kendra on 19 March 26.
The Film Festival 2026 is scheduled to be commenced from 19 March which will conclude on 22 March.

The four day film festival is being organised by the Information & Public Relations Department, Government of Sikkim, in collaboration with the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and National Film Development Corporation (NFDC).

The Governor conveyed his best wishes for the success of the festival.

सिक्किम के माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर से आज सिक्किम फिल्म बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष श्री ताशी छीरिंग, सूचना एवं जनसंपर्क विभाग के अध्यक्ष श्री आशीत राई तथा सचिव श्रीमती अन्नपूर्णा आले ने शिष्टाचार भेंट की।

प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने माननीय राज्यपाल को सिक्किम अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फिल्म महोत्सव 2026 में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में आमंत्रित किया।
यह महोत्सव सूचना एवं प्रसारण मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार तथा राष्ट्रीय फिल्म विकास निगम के सहयोग से आयोजित किया जा रहा है।

महोत्सव का उद्घाटन कार्यक्रम 19 मार्च 2026 को मानन केंद्र, गंगटोक में प्रातः 11 बजे आयोजित होगा। उसी दिन सायं वेस्ट पॉइंट मॉल, गंगटोक में रेड कार्पेट गाला का आयोजन किया जाएगा, जिसमें सुप्रसिद्ध फिल्मकार सत्यजित राय की फिल्म “सिक्किम” का प्रदर्शन किया जाएगा।

माननीय राज्यपाल ने कार्यक्रम की सफलता के लिए शुभकामनाएँ देते हुए कहा कि सिक्किम की विविध संस्कृति पर भी फिल्म निर्माण की दिशा में प्रयास किए जाने चाहिए, ताकि युवा पीढ़ी अपनी जड़ों से जुड़ी रहे।
