17.10.2025 : The Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, paid a courtesy call on the Hon’ble Governor at Raj Bhavan here today.

The Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution,
Smt. Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya paid a courtesy call on the Hon’ble Governor Shri Om Prakash Mathur at Raj Bhavan here today.

During the courtesy call, the Hon’ble
extended his warm welcome to the Hon’ble Union Minister where they had discussion on the progress of initiatives and schemes under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and on the effective implementation of the flagship schemes and various centrally sponsored projects for the growth & development of the state and the North East region.

The Hon’ble Union Minister briefed the Hon’ble Governor about her visits to various places under Pakyong district who is on a four-day official visit to Sikkim.

The Hon’ble Governor mentioned about the practices of organic farming, women empowerment, and the cleanliness of the State. Also he informed various welfare initiatives of the Raj Bhavan, celebration of Nathula Vijay Diwas with the Indian Army on 11 September, installations of the Statue of the brave army officer, Lt. Gen. Sagat Singh at Nathula honouring and
acknowledging his bravery during the Indo-China War of 1967.
