18.02.2026 : On the auspicious occasion of Losar, festival, the Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur has extended his warm greetings to the people of Sikkim

On the auspicious occasion of Losar, festival, the Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur has extended his warm greetings to the people of Sikkim especially the Buddhist communities who celebrate this festival with great joy and devotion.

Extending his greetings, the Governor said “Losar a significant festival in the region that marks the beginning of the Tibetan New Year.
It is celebrated with prayers and rituals that symbolise the welcoming of prosperity and the banishing of evil spirits. Festivals in Sikkim hold spiritual significance in our lives. It creates a sense of belonging and cultural pride, keeping the younger generation connected to their roots. Celebrating festivals is the mode of transmission of Sikkim’s diverse religious heritage.

I hope that the festival will be celebrated in true spirit inspiring collective goodwill unity and progress. I pray for peace, prosperity and continued well being of the people and the state.”

The Governor urged everyone to collectively preserve their culture and respect each other’s cultures, traditions and festivals.

लोसर पर्व पर माननीय राज्यपाल की शुभकामनाएँ

लोसर पर्व के शुभ अवसर पर सिक्किम के माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर ने प्रदेशवासियों को हार्दिक शुभकामनाएँ दीं हैं।

अपने संदेश में माननीय राज्यपाल ने कहा “लोसर तिब्बती नव वर्ष का पर्व है, जो नई उमंग और नई आकांक्षाओं का प्रतीक है।

पर्व हमारे धार्मिक, सामाजिक और आध्यात्मिक दृष्टि से विशेष महत्व रखते हैं तथा हमारी सांस्कृतिक विरासत को एक पीढ़ी से दूसरी पीढ़ी तक पहुँचाने का माध्यम हैं ।
इस अवसर पर मैं सिक्किम के नागरिकों से आग्रह करता हूँ कि वे अपनी संस्कृति को संरक्षित एवं संवर्धित करें और साथ ही अन्य संस्कृतियों का सम्मान करते हुए सामूहिक सद्भाव बनाए रखें।

माननीय राज्यपाल ने कामना की है कि यह अवसर हमारी समग्र संस्कृति को और अधिक समृद्ध करे तथा सभी सिक्किम वासियों के बीच सुख, शांति और समृद्धि का संचार करे।
