The State Formation Day of two northeastern states; Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram were celebrated at Lok Bhavan, Gangtok here today. The State Foundation Day of two states was celebrated as part of the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, an initiative of the Government of India.

During the programme audio visual films showing the beauty, history, heritage, cuisine, culture and tourist destinations of the two States were also shown.

Joint Secretary, Lok Bhavan Shri Diwas Gautam said the celebration of the state formation day will further strengthen the socio-economic and cultural bond shared by Sikkim with other North Eastern states.

ADC to Governor, Shri Santosh Baniya stated Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram are the symbol of India’s rich cultural heritage. The glorious legacy of literature, folk, art, festivals, sports, handicrafts of both the States is the reflection of the unity in diversity of this great nation.

The celebration was attended by officials and staff of Lok Bhavan and security personnel were present.

The celebration also featured screening of message from the Governor of Mizoram, General (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd.).

आज लोकभवन, सिक्किम में अरुणाचल प्रदेश और मिजोरम के राज्य स्थापना दिवस का उत्सव आयोजित किया गया। यह आयोजन भारत सरकार की पहल ‘एक भारत, श्रेष्ठ भारत’ के अंतर्गत संपन्न हुआ।

कार्यक्रम के दौरान दोनों राज्यों की समृद्ध संस्कृति, इतिहास, विरासत, व्यंजन और पर्यटन स्थलों को प्रदर्शित करने वाली ऑडियो-वीडियो फिल्में प्रस्तुत की गईं। इस अवसर पर मिजोरम के माननीय राज्यपाल जनरल (डॉ.) विजय कुमार सिंह का संदेश भी प्रसारित किया गया।

दोनों राज्यों पर प्रकाश डालते हुए माननीय राज्यपाल के संयुक्त सचिव श्री दिवस गौतम ने कहा कि यह अवसर हमें परस्पर सामाजिक, आर्थिक एवं सांस्कृतिक बंधन को और सुदृढ़ करने का अवसर प्रदान करता है, विशेषकर पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र की एकता और प्रगति के संदर्भ में आज का दिन महत्वपूर्ण है।

माननीय राज्यपाल के एडीसी श्री संतोष बनिया ने भी अपने विचार व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि अरुणाचल प्रदेश और मिजोरम भारत की समृद्ध सांस्कृतिक विरासत के प्रतीक हैं। दोनों राज्यों की साहित्य, लोककला, उत्सव, खेल और हस्तशिल्प की गौरवशाली परंपरा हमारे महान राष्ट्र की विविधता में एकता का प्रतिबिंब है।

कार्यक्रम में लोकभवन के अधिकारी, कर्मचारी तथा सुरक्षा कर्मी उपस्थित रहे।
