Our ancient values always emphasised the well-being of all individuals and encouraged a holistic approach to health and happiness through Yoga. The celebration of the International Day of Yoga is a matter of pride and a significant recognition for India. Under the vision of the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, Yoga has gained global recognition. It is now popular and is being practiced and promoted all over the world for its immense health benefits.

Yoga is a holistic discipline which benefits individuals of all ages, enhancing overall wellness, improving fitness, fostering mental resilience and contributing to a balanced and healthy lifestyle. Sikkim’s spiritual heritage and natural ecosystem give the state a unique advantage in becoming a global destination for wellness and yoga. Let us embrace this ancient wisdom as a way of life and work together to build a Viksit Sikkim and contribute to the realization of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Wishing everyone a healthy and mindful Yoga Day.”
