22.06.2026 : Member of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST), Dr. Asha Lakra paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur at Lok Bhavan today.

Member of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST), Dr. Asha Lakra paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur at Lok Bhavan today.

During the courtesy meeting, Dr. Lakra briefed the Governor about the functioning of the commission and other development initiatives being undertaken for the welfare of Scheduled Tribes. The discussion also engaged about the constitutional rights of tribal communities, the implementation of ongoing welfare schemes in the state to uplift the socio-economic status of the Scheduled Tribes.

Dr. Asha Lakra was accompanied by the Legal Advisor of Commission, Advocate Rahul Yadav along with members of the commission.

सिक्किम के माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर से आज लोकभवन में राष्ट्रीय अनुसूचित जनजाति आयोग की माननीय सदस्य एवं भारतीय जनता पार्टी की राष्ट्रीय सचिव डॉ. आशा लाकरा ने शिष्टाचार भेंट की।

इस अवसर पर डॉ. लाकरा ने राज्यपाल महोदय को आयोग की कार्यप्रणाली तथा अनुसूचित जनजातियों के हित में किए जा रहे नवाचारों की जानकारी दी जिसके अंतर्गत जनजातियों के संवैधानिक अधिकारों, राज्य में जारी विकास योजनाओं और उनके सामाजिक-आर्थिक उत्थान को लेकर व्यापक विचार-विमर्श किया गया।
इस अवसर पर आयोग के कानूनी सलाहकार एडवोकेट राहुल यादव तथा अन्य सदस्यगण भी उपस्थित रहे।
