    Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim, graced the State Credit Seminar (2024-2025) as the Chief Guest organized by NABARD.

    The Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, graced the State Credit Seminar (2024-2025) as the Chief Guest organized by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in collaboration with the Agriculture Department of the Government of Sikkim.

     The program commenced with the flagging off of a mobile mart, enhancing market access and income for Primary Agriculture Credit Cooperative Societies (PACS) followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp.

    The Hon’ble Governor in his address highlighted NABARD’s crucial role in fostering rural agricultural development and strengthening the rural economy. He drew inspiration from the timeless ideals of Ram Rajya, illustrating how Lord Ram himself endeavoured to address all attainable issues similar to NABARD’s endeavors. Additionally, he referenced Mahatma Gandhi’s poignant quote, “If the villages perishes, India will perish too,” emphasizing the paramount importance of developing and fostering self-reliance in villages.

    Highlighting the significance of the State Credit Plan in Sikkim’s development journey, the Hon’ble Governor released the State Focus Paper 2024-2025, symbolizing a roadmap for inclusive growth.

    The Hon’ble Governor also handed over  five sanction letters of various Developmental projects.

    The Deputy General Manager of NABARD presented a comprehensive report on the State Focus Paper, elucidating major developmental initiatives and their impact on beneficiaries.

    The event witnessed the  audio-visual presentation showcased NABARD’s major initiatives, followed by the exchange of MOUs and the presentation of sanction letters for various development projects.

     The event was attended by the Secretary of Agriculture, Secretary and senior officers from the Cooperation Department, representatives from various line departments, delegates from banks and FPOs across Sikkim
