    The Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, graced the 14th National Voters Day at Chintan Bhawan today. The event, organized by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Sikkim, unfolded under the theme, “Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure.” Commending the Chief Election Commissioner of Sikkim for orchestrating the National Voters Day, the Hon’ble Governor expressed immense pride in witnessing the active participation of everyone present today, especially the youth. In his address to the gathering, he emphasized the significance of voting as a means for individuals to realize their dreams and contribute to shaping India into a more beautiful and stronger nation. The Hon’ble Governor emphasized that the democratic governance established after India gained independence entrusts the responsibility of the nation’s governance to the people through voting. Recognizing National Voters Day as a vital occasion, he emphasized that it instils a sense of responsibility and awareness among the citizens. The Hon’ble Governor marked the youth as the torchbearers of the nation’s bright future, urging everyone to vote for Viksit Bharat @2047. The program commenced with the lighting of ceremonial lamps by the Hon’ble Governor. During the event, the Hon’ble Governor administered the “NVD Pledge” and released videos of the ECI song “Mah Bharat Hoon” in regional languages. Additionally, he released appeal videos for the General Selection 2024 and videos for Sangha voters. The Hon’ble Governor felicitated icons, roll observers, Best BLOs, Special Awardees, and 15 new voters. The cultural department added a patriotic touch to the celebration with performances of patriotic songs in Hindi and Nepali.
