The Minister of Ecclesiastical department, Shri Sonam Lama called on the Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur at Lok Bhavan here today.
During the courtesy meeting, Shri Sonam Lama who is also the Chief Patron of the Ram Navami Mahotsav Committee extended an invitation to attend the Ram Navami celebration and to participate Kalash Yatra, Shobha Yatra, and Dhwaj Yatra at Thakurbari temple, Gangtok schedule to be held on 26 March, 26.
The minister was accompanied by the executive members Ram Navami Mahotsav Committee.
The celebration committee briefed the Governor about various activities including the nine-day Shri Ram Katha programme.
The Governor accepted the invitation and conveyed his best wishes for the successful celebration of the Ram Navami festival. He mentioned that the celebration of Ram Navami reflects the rich cultural heritage and deep-rooted values and strengthening bonds of harmony, gratitude, and togetherness.
