On the sacred occasion of Maha Shivaratri, the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, attended the grand celebrations held at Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham at Jalipool.
The event commenced with the Hon’ble Governor performing traditional worship rituals within the temple premises. Thereafter, he offered Rudrabhishek to the sacred Shivling, invoking divine blessings. The entire temple complex resonated with the powerful chants of Vedic hymns, recited by the students of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham Veda Pathshala, enhancing the spiritual ambience of the ceremony.
Following the Aarti, the Hon’ble Governor interacted with members of the organizing committee and encouraged them to contribute to the development of the temple premises. He emphasized that the festival of Maha Shivaratri provides an opportunity for self-reflection and spiritual awakening. He extended his heartfelt greetings to all and prayed for the divine blessings of Lord Shiva to always remain with everyone.
Commending the organizers, the Hon’ble Governor remarked that such religious and cultural events play a vital role in fostering unity and brotherhood within society. Furthermore, he lauded their efforts in preserving and promoting the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Sikkim.
Present alongside the Hon’ble Governor was Hon’ble MLA Syari, Shri Tenzing Lamtha.

आज शिवरात्रि के पावन अवसर पर, सिक्किम के माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर, जालीपुल, सिक्किम स्थित कांची कामकोटि पीठम में आयोजित कार्यक्रम में सम्मिलित हुए ।
इस अवसर पर, राज्यपाल महोदय ने विधिवत रुद्राभिषेक और आरती की एवं सिक्किमवासियों की सुख-समृद्धि की प्रार्थना की। कार्यक्रम में उपस्थित जन समुदाय ने इस धार्मिक अनुष्ठान में राज्यपाल महोदय की सहभागिता को लेकर अत्यंत प्रसन्नता व्यक्त की है।

कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ राज्यपाल महोदय द्वारा मंदिर प्रांगण में पूजन-अर्चन के साथ किया गया। तत्पश्चात, राज्यपाल महोदय ने भगवान शिव के पवित्र शिवलिंग पर रुद्राभिषेक किया। इस धार्मिक अनुष्ठान के दौरान, कांची कामकोटि पीठम वेद पाठशाला के छात्रों के मंत्रोच्चार की ध्वनि से पूरा मंदिर परिसर गूंज उठा।

आरती के उपरांत, राज्यपाल महोदय ने आयोजक समिति के सदस्यों से भी बातचीत की और मंदिर परिसर के विकास के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया । उन्होंने कहा कि शिवरात्रि का यह पावन पर्व हमें आत्मसाक्षात्कार का महत्वपूर्ण अवसर प्रदान करता है। उन्होंने इस अवसर पर सभी को शुभकामनाएं दीं हैं और भगवान शिव की कृपा सभी पर सदैव बनी रहने की मंगल कामना की है ।
उन्होंने आयोजन समिति को बधाई देते हुए कहा कि इस तरह के धार्मिक और सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों के माध्यम से समाज में भाइचारे और एकता को बढ़ावा मिलता है । इस दौरान श्यारी निर्वाचन क्षेत्र के माननीय विधायक श्री तेनजिंग लामथा की भी उपस्थिति रही।
