26.06.2026 : The Governor of Sikkim participated in the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Dwadash Jyotirlingas and the idol of Lord Shiva at Shri Shri Shri Saraswati Dolma Temple, 5th Mile Tadong today.
The Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur participated in the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Dwadash Jyotirlingas and the idol of Lord Shiva at Shri Shri Shri Saraswati Dolma Temple, 5th Mile Tadong here today.
The ceremony was attended by the area MLA (Tadong constituency) cum Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Shri G.T. Dhungel, officials of various departments, members of the temple committee and devotees.
On this occasion, the Governor performed a Havan Yachhna and prayed for the prosperity, communal harmony and good health of the people of Sikkim.
During the programme, the Governor felicitated social workers and devotees who have made selfless contributions to the temple.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor said, “Mandir like Shri Shri Shri Saraswati Dolma Temple are the cornerstone of our cultural identity and community unity. He commended the social workers for their contributions and service on preserving the rich cultural and spiritual legacy for future generations.
The Governor expressed his privilege in participating in the sacred Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Lord Shiva and Jotirligas. He stated that Lord Shiva is revered as the supreme deity and is the embodiment of compassion, auspiciousness and wisdom.
He added that temples apart from being places of worship are centres of social unity, value education and collective harmony. He appreciated the people of Sikkim for upholding these ideals and preserving the State’s rich traditions of cultural devotion, spirituality, communal harmony and environmental consciousness.
The Governor concluded his speech by praying that Lord Shiva bless every household in the state with happiness, peace and good health.
सिक्किम के माननीय राज्यपाल, श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर ने 5 माइल, तादोंग स्थित श्री श्री श्री सरस्वती डोल्मा मंदिर में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में एक आध्यात्मिक समारोह में भाग लिया।
इस अवसर पर राज्यपाल महोदय ने वैदिक अनुष्ठानों के साथ मंदिर परिसर में द्वादश ज्योतिर्लिंग एवं भगवान शिव की मूर्ति के प्राण प्रतिष्ठा अनुष्ठान में सहभागिता की और इसका अनावरण किया।
इस आयोजन में क्षेत्र के विधायक सह स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण मंत्री श्री जी.टी. ढुंगेल, मंदिर समिति के प्रतिनिधि, विभिन्न विभागों के अधिकारी और स्थानीय श्रद्धालुओं की उपस्थिती रही।
समारोह के दौरान एक विशेष सत्र का आयोजन किया गया, जहाँ राज्यपाल महोदय ने उन सक्रिय सामाजिक कार्यकर्ताओं और भक्तों को सम्मानित किया, जिन्होंने मंदिर के निर्माण, विकास और सेवा कार्यों में अपना निस्वार्थ योगदान दिया है। इस दौरान राज्यपाल ने भक्तजनों के साथ मिलकर हवन में भाग लिया और सिक्किम के लोगों की सुख-समृद्धि, सांप्रदायिक सौहार्द और उत्तम स्वास्थ्य की कामना की।
जनसमूह को संबोधित करते हुए माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर ने कहा , “सरस्वती डोल्मा मंदिर जैसे धार्मिक संस्थान हमारी सांस्कृतिक पहचान और सामुदायिक एकता की आधारशिला हैं। उन्होंने सम्मानित होने वाले सभी सामाजिक कार्यकर्ताओं की सराहना करते हुए कहा कि उनके द्वारा दिए गए योगदान हमारी विरासत को आने वाली पीढ़ियों के लिए जीवंत रखता है।
राज्यपाल महोदय ने कहा कि भगवान शिव आदि और अंत हैं, वे कल्याण के देवता हैं। आज इस पवित्र सरस्वती डोल्मा मंदिर में भोलेनाथ की प्राण प्रतिष्ठा का हिस्सा बनना मेरे लिए सौभाग्य का क्षण है। सिक्किम के लोगों की सराहना करते हुए राज्यपाल महोदय ने कहा कि यहाँ के निवासियों की सादगी, गहरी सांस्कृतिक निष्ठा और आपस में मिलजुल कर रहने की भावना और पर्यावरण के प्रति सजगता वास्तव में अनुकरणीय है। भगवान शिव सिक्किम के हर घर को सुख, शांति, समृद्धि और उत्तम स्वास्थ्य का आशीर्वाद दें।
