On the auspicious occasion of Losar, the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, extends his warm greetings to the people of Sikkim.

In his message, he stated: “Losar,” derived from the Tibetan words “Lo” (year) and “Sar” (new), marks the beginning of the Tibetan Lunar New Year. This auspicious festival is a time of renewal, celebrated with vibrant cultural rituals, prayers, feasts, and family gatherings. It is a moment to embrace new beginnings, and seek blessings for prosperity, good health, and happiness in the year ahead.

May this Year of the Wood Snake usher in peace, harmony, and abundance for all my fellow Sikkimese, strengthening the bonds of brotherhood among our diverse communities and faiths.”
