28.08.2026 : Sikkim Governor celebrated Raksha Bandhan with children of Lok Bhavan staff, students of Remanti Sangeet Academy, women personnel of the ITBP and women sanitation workers

Sikkim Governor Shri Om Prakash Mathur celebrated Raksha Bandhan with children of Lok Bhavan staff, students of Remanti Sangeet Academy, women personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and women sanitation workers of the Gangtok Municipal Corporation (GMC) at Lok Bhavan today.

As part of the celebration, the children, women ITBP personnel and women sanitation workers the tied Rakhi to the Governor and exchanged Raksha Bandan greetings.

The Governor stated that Raksha Bandan festival strengthens the bonds of love, affection and togetherness, and inspires everyone to uphold the values of compassion, harmony and mutual respect.

On the occassion, officials and staff of Lok Bhavan and GMC, parents and others were present.

रक्षा बंधन के पावन पर्व पर आज लोकभवन में एक कार्यक्रम आयोजन किया गया। इस अवसर पर लोकभवन परिसर की बच्चियों, लोकभवन में कार्यरत ITBP की बहिनों, रेमंती संगीत अकादमी की बच्चियों तथा सफ़ाई मित्र बहिनों ने माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर को राखी बाँधकर अपना स्नेह और शुभकामनाएँ व्यक्त कीं।

राज्यपाल महोदय ने सभी को रक्षा बंधन की हार्दिक शुभकामनाएँ देते हुए कहा कि यह पर्व भाई-बहन के पवित्र रिश्ते का प्रतीक है और समाज में प्रेम, विश्वास तथा एकता की भावना को और अधिक मजबूत करता है।

कार्यक्रम में लोकभवन अधिकारियों, कर्मचारियों और परिवार के सदस्य भी उपस्थित रहे।
