Raj Bhavan Sikkim celebrated the Statehood Day of Rajasthan with great fervor and enthusiasm in the gracious presence of the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, at Ashivard Bhavan, Raj Bhavan.
Extending his heartiest greetings to the gathering, the Hon’ble Governor, on this joyous occasion, urged all Rajasthani brothers and sisters to take a solemn pledge on Rajasthan Statehood Day to honour not only their “matribhumi” but also their “karmbhumi”. He emphasized that every Rajasthani has to make both their homeland and Sikkim proud.
He expressed his pride in the Rajasthani community, saying, “I am proud of you all for coming and settling here under challenging conditions with lack of resources 100-150 years ago. Over time, the people of Rajasthan here in Sikkim have seamlessly adapted to the local culture and language, earning the trust and respect of the local population.
The Hon’ble Governor also encouraged the local Marwari community to take proactive initiatives, especially as Sikkim prepares to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its statehood and its merger with the Indian Union in the month of May. With the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India scheduled to visit the state, commemorating the 50 years of statehood, he urged the Rajasthani community to undertake innovative projects that could be showcased as remarkable contributions by Rajasthani brothers and sisters towards the development and progress of the region.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Commissioner-cum-Secretary Shri Jitendra Singh Raje, who expressed profound gratitude, stating that it is a matter of great pride to extend a warm welcome to our esteemed Hon’ble Governor Sir. Hailing from Rajasthan, a land known for its rich cultural heritage and traditions, the Hon’ble Governor truly exemplifies the legacy of Rajasthan. He also extended his heartfelt greetings to the Hon’ble Governor and the distinguished gathering.
In his address, he highlighted that the celebration of the Statehood Day of each state in the Raj Bhavan’s across the nation is an initiative of the Ministry of Home Affairs, following the vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. He emphasized that today’s celebration is not only a tribute to Rajasthan’s Statehood Day but also a reflection of our shared spirit of unity in diversity.
General Officer Commanding, 17th Mountain Division, Major General M.S. Rathore, also addressed the gathering, extending his warm wishes to all present. He appreciated the cultural programs from Rajasthan, urging that they continue to showcase the rich history and heritage of the state. Sharing his personal experiences from the Indian Army, Major General Rathore noted that the valour and bravery of Rajasthan’s historical figures are often cited as exemplary tales of courage and patriotism within the armed forces.
An esteemed guest from the Marwari community, Shri Sarda, also delivered an inspiring address, shedding light on the rich history of the Rajasthani people in Sikkim, tracing their roots back to the erstwhile kingdom era. His words spotlighted the enduring legacy and cultural contributions of the Marwari community in Sikkim.
The celebration also featured vibrant cultural performances, including traditional showcases by the Marwari community of Sikkim, highlighting the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan. The celebration was further enriched by melodious performances by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), which resonated with themes of patriotism and national pride.

अखंडता को मजबूती प्राप्त हुई है: राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर

आज राजभवन ,सिक्किम में माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर की उपस्थिति में राजस्थान राज्य के 76वें स्थापना दिवस को भव्यता से मनाया गया।
माननीय राज्यपाल ने इस अवसर पर कहा कि माननीय प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की ‘एक भारत श्रेष्ठ भारत’ संकल्पना राष्ट्र की एकता-अखंडता को ज्यादा मजबूत प्राप्त रही है।
उन्होंने कहा कि 30 मार्च 1949 को भारत में शामिल हुआ राजस्थान राज्य देश का सबसे समृद्ध राज्य है।
माननीय राज्यपाल ने इस अवसर पर उपस्थित सभी राजस्थानी बंधुओं को अपनी हार्दिक शुभकामनाएँ देते हुए आग्रह किया कि राजस्थान दिवस के अवसर पर संकल्प लें कि मातृभूमि के साथ अपनी कर्मभूमि को भी गौरान्वित करना हर राजस्थानी का कर्तव्य हो , उन्होंने कहा कि मुझे गर्व है आप लोंगो पर की आप आज से 100-150 वर्ष पूर्व विषम परिस्थितियों और साधनों के अभाव में यहाँ आकर बसे और कालान्तर में आपने यहाँ की संस्कृति और भाषा में आत्मसात होते हुए यहां के स्थानीय लोंगो में विश्वास जमाया । उन्होंने स्थानीय मारवाड़ी लोंगो से आग्रह किया कि प्रदेश की स्थापना के मई माह में 50 वर्ष पूरे हो रहे हैं, माननीय प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी जी ने अपनी गरिमामय उपस्थिति की स्वीकृति दी है और इस अवसर पर सिक्किम में बसे राजस्थानी समाज कोई ऐसा नवाचार् करे जिसे हम बता सकें की ये नया कार्य राजस्थानी बंधुओं ने किया है।”

कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत आयुक्त-सह-सचिव,माननीय राज्यपाल श्री जितेंद्र सिंह राजे के स्वागत संबोधन से हुई, जिसमें उन्होंने कहा कि हमारे माननीय राज्यपाल महोदय का राजस्थान स्थापना दिवस के अवसर पर स्वागत करना हमारे लिए गर्व की बात है। राजस्थान, जो अपनी समृद्ध सांस्कृतिक विरासत और परंपराओं के लिए जाना जाता है, के माननीय राज्यपाल इस विरासत के सच्चे प्रतीक हैं। उन्होंने माननीय राज्यपाल और उपस्थित विशिष्ट जनों को अपनी हार्दिक शुभकामनाएँ दीं।

अपने संबोधन में उन्होंने राज्य स्थापना दिवस के उद्देश्य को बताते हुए कहा कि यह कार्यक्रम सभी राजभवनों में गृह मंत्रालय की “एक भारत श्रेष्ठ भारत” की परिकल्पना के अंतर्गत आयोजित किया जाता है। उन्होंने कहा कि आज का उत्सव न केवल राजस्थान के राज्य स्थापना दिवस को समर्पित है बल्कि हमारी “विविधता में एकता” की साझा भावना का प्रतिबिंब भी है।

सत्रहवीं माउंटेन डिवीजन के जनरल ऑफिसर कमांडिंग मेजर जनरल एम.एस. राठौड़ ने भी सभा को संबोधित करते हुए सभी को अपनी हार्दिक शुभकामनाएँ दीं। उन्होंने राजस्थान के सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों की सराहना करते हुए आग्रह किया कि वे राज्य के समृद्ध इतिहास और विरासत को निरंतर इसी तरह प्रदर्शित करते रहें। भारतीय सेना में अपने व्यक्तिगत अनुभवों को साझा करते हुए, मेजर जनरल राठौड़ ने बताया कि राजस्थान की शौर्य और वीरता की कहानियों को अक्सर सेना में अनुकरणीय साहस और देशभक्ति के किस्सों के रूप में उद्धृत किया जाता है।

इस दौरान मारवाड़ी समुदाय से श्री एस के सारडा ने भी सिक्किम में मारवाड़ी समाज के योगदान को प्रस्तुत किया , जिसमें उन्होंने सिक्किम में राजस्थानी लोगों के समृद्ध इतिहास पर प्रकाश डाला।

आज के कार्यक्रम में मारवाड़ी समुदाय द्वारा पारंपरिक सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम प्रस्तुत किए गए जिसमें राजस्थान की समृद्ध सांस्कृतिक विरासत को दर्शाया गया।
इसके अलावा,भारत-तिब्बत सीमा पुलिस (आईटीबीपी) और सशस्त्र सीमा बल (एसएसबी) द्वारा देशभक्ति और राष्ट्रीय गौरव की थीम पर आधारित मधुर प्रस्तुतियाँ भी दी गईं।

इस अवसर पर राजस्थान के माननीय राज्यपाल श्री हरिभाउ बागड़े द्वारा दिए गए संदेश को भी पढ़ा गया साथ ही एक राजस्थान पर आधारित एक फिल्म भी महानुभावों ने देखी।

कार्यक्रम में जनरल ऑफिसर कमांडिंग ,17 माउंटेन डिविजन मेजर जनरल एम.एस. राठौर,एसएसबी के अधिकारी,सिक्किम में बसा राजस्थान का मारवाड़ी समुदाय , राजभवन के अधिकारियों, कर्माचारियों की उपस्थिति रही।
