An Army Felicitation Ceremony was organized at Lok Bhavan today to honor the Black Cat Division of the Indian Army stationed in Gangtok, along with its various units, for their role in safeguarding the nation’s borders and their outstanding contributions to social activities.
The Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and the Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Tamang was present as a special guest.
The event was attended by GOC of the Black Cat Division, Major General M. S. Rathore (SM, VSM, AVSM), as well as the newly appointed GOC Shri Ashish Negi.
During the program, a citation was presented to the Black Cat Division.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor emphasized that Sikkim holds immense strategic importance and praised the Indian Army for living by the ideal of “Seva Parmo Dharma”. He further highlighted that the Army has made remarkable contributions not only in ensuring security but also in the field of development in Sikkim.
The Governor lauded the developmental works being carried out at Nathula, Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple, Chola, Sikkim Prerna Sthal and Dokala under the Ranbhoomi Darshan initiative, noting that these efforts have increased tourist inflow and helped people connect with India’s glorious history. He also appreciated the initiatives under Operation Himrahat and Operation Sadbhavana.
It is noteworthy that developmental works at Nathula, Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple, Chola , Sikkim Prerna Sthal, and Dokala have been undertaken under CSR initiatives with the efforts of the Governor.
The major contributions of the Army include the development of tourist sites, improvement of living standards in border villages, establishment of gardens and national flags, cultural initiatives, tourism-promoting activities such as supercar rallies, development of religious sites and installation of statues, green initiatives and hydroponic projects, military-civil fusion programs and civil defense arrangements, as well as providing relief to tourists through Operation Himrahat.
The ceremony was attended by Army officers, officials from the Chief Minister’s Office, and soldiers of the Indian Army.
लोकभवन में आयोजित सेना सम्मान समारोह
लोकभवन में आज भारतीय सेना की गंगटोक स्थित ब्लैक कैट डिवीज़न को उनके व उनके अंतर्गत आने वाली विभिन्न इकाइयों द्वारा राष्ट्र की सीमाओं की सुरक्षा तथा उनके द्वारा सामाजिक गतिविधियों में उत्कृष्ट योगदान के लिए सेना सम्मान समारोह आयोजित किया गया, जिसमें माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में उपस्थित रहे।
इस अवसर पर सिक्किम के माननीय मुख्यमंत्री श्री प्रेम सिंह तामांग की विशेष उपस्थिती रही।
कार्यक्रम में ब्लैक कैट डिविजन के जीओसी मेजर जनरल एम. एस. राठौड़( एसएम, वीएसएम,एवीएसएम )तथा नव नियुक्त जीओसी श्रीआशीष नेगी भी उपस्थित रहे।
कार्यक्रम के दौरान ब्लैक कैट डिवीजन को प्रशस्ति पत्र प्रदान किया गया।
राज्यपाल महोदय ने समारोह को संबोधित करते हुए कहा कि यह अवसर राष्ट्र के प्रति प्रेम, पराक्रम और समर्पण का उत्सव है। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि सिक्किम सामरिक दृष्टि से अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण राज्य है। भारतीय सेना ‘सेना परमो धर्म’ के आदर्श को जीती है। सिक्किम में भारतीय सेना ने सुरक्षा के साथ-साथ विकास के क्षेत्र में भी उल्लेखनीय कार्य किए हैं।
माननीय राज्यपाल ने रणभूमि दर्शन के अंतर्गत नाथू ला, बाबा हरभजन सिंह मंदिर, चोला, सिक्किम प्रेरणा स्थल और डोका ला जैसे स्थानों पर किए जा रहे विकास कार्यों की प्रशंसा करते हुए कहा कि इन प्रयासों से पर्यटकों की संख्या में वृद्धि हुई है और लोग हमारे देश के गौरवशाली इतिहास से भी परिचित हो रहे हैं।
राज्यपाल महोदय ने ऑपरेशन हिमराहत और ऑपरेशन सद्भावना के तहत किए जा रहे कार्यों की भी भूरि-भूरि प्रशंसा की। उन्होंने सम्मानित सभी के प्रति अपनी बधाई और शुभकामनाएँ दीं।
यह उल्लेखनीय है कि नाथू ला, बाबा हरभजन सिंह मंदिर, चोला, सिक्किम प्रेरणा स्थल और डोका ला में माननीय राज्यपाल के प्रयासों से CSR पहल के अंतर्गत विकास कार्य किए गए हैं, जो पर्यटकों को सुविधा प्रदान कर रहे हैं।
सेना द्वारा किए गए प्रमुख कार्यों में प्रेरणा स्थलों और पर्यटन स्थलों का विकास, सीमावर्ती गाँवों में जीवन स्तर सुधार, उद्यान और राष्ट्रीय ध्वज की स्थापना, सांस्कृतिक पहल एवं विशेष कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन, सुपर कार रैली जैसी पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देने वाली गतिविधियाँ, धार्मिक स्थलों का विकास और प्रतिमा स्थापना, ग्रीन इनिशिएटिव्स एवं हाइड्रोपोनिक परियोजना, मिलिट्री-सिविल फ्यूजन कार्यक्रम और सिविल डिफेंस व्यवस्था, तथा ऑपरेशन हिमराहत द्वारा पर्यटकों को राहत प्रदान करना शामिल है।
इस कार्यक्रम के दौरान सेना के अधिकारियों,मुख्यमंत्री कार्यालय के अधिकारीगण ,सेना के जवानों की उपस्थिती रहीं।
