On the auspicious occasion of ‘Shyadar Pidar’ the Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur has extended his warm greetings to the people of the Sikkim, especially the Mukhia community’.
In his message, the Governor said “Shyadar Pidar’ also known as ‘Ubhauli Puja’ is one of the most important festivals of the Sunuwar community which symbolises faith, commitment, and responsibility towards Mother Nature and also to express gratitude to nature. Sikkim stand as shining example of nature and culture, which teaches us that respect for traditions and culture.
On this auspicious occasion, I urge the people of Sikkim to preserve and promote the local culture and traditions and pass them on to future generations.
It promotes values of love, peace, generosity and this festival bring prosperity, good health and happiness.”
