31.10.2025 : Strengthening the spirit of national unity, the Statehood Day of Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh was celebrated at Raj Bhavan Gangtok.

Strengthening the spirit of national unity under the theme of “Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat”, the Statehood Day of Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Raj Bhavan Gangtok.
The programme was attended by officials and staff of Raj Bhavan and other distinguished guests. The celebration also coincided with Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day), which marks the 150th birth anniversary of Vallabhbhai Patel.

Addressing the gathering, Joint Secretary, Diwas Gautam
said that the celebration, which is a part of the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to strengthen the spirit of Unity and integration and also a sense of care amongst the people, particularly those from other States. Further, he also hailed the scenic beauty of the two Union territories and appreciated their deep-rooted customs and traditions.

During the function video message from the Governor of Ladakh also screened, offering his warm greetings and extending best wishes for the continued prosperity and progress of the states and the nation.
