The Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim Shri Dushyant Gautam extended greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day), observed annually on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
In his message, the Hon’ble Governor said “Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, popularly known as the ‘Iron Man of India’ was a visionary leader whose determination played a crucial role in unifying the country and safeguarding its territorial integrity. His visionary leadership, indomitable courage, and tireless efforts, unified princely states and strengthened the unity and integrity of India.
‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ is a legacy of Sardar Patel and his unwavering commitment to the unity, integrity, and sovereignty of the nation will continue to inspire generations to come. The rich diversity and traditions of state further strengthen the vision of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’
National Unity Day reminds us that the true strength of our country lies in unity in diversity.
On this National Unity Day, let us pledge to uphold the values of harmony, strength, and integrity that define our nation.”
