    Celebration of the Foundation Day of Maharashtra and Gujarat: A Symbol of Unity in Diversity

    In alignment with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, the Statehood Day of the two significant states of India; Maharashtra and Gujarat, was celebrated today with great fervour and enthusiasm at Raj Bhavan, Sikkim.
    The event, organised at Raj Bhavan, brought together a diverse group of dignitaries, officials, students of different universities, and staff to celebrate these states’ rich cultural and historical contributions towards India’s growth and unity.
    The program commenced with a heartfelt welcome address by the Joint Secretary to the Hon’ble Governor, Shri Diwas Gautam, who extended a warm welcome to all attendees, emphasizing the importance of celebrating this momentous occasion that signifies India’s unity in diversity. The occasion marked a significant celebration of the spirit of togetherness that binds the diverse regions of the nation.
    In a special moment, video messages from the Hon’ble Governors of Maharashtra and Gujarat were also screened, offering their warm greetings and extending their best wishes for the continued prosperity and progress of the states and the nation.
    The event witnessed soul-stirring performances by the talented students of Khangchenzonga State University and the staff and officials of Raj Bhavan. Cultural performances and melodious renditions captivated the audience, highlighting the unique traditions and art forms of Maharashtra and Gujarat.
    The ADC(P) to the Hon’ble Governor, Shri Santosh Baniya, in his address, spoke about the significant role that Maharashtra and Gujarat play in the nation-building process, emphasizing how these states contribute to shaping the vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047. He noted that their leadership in economic, cultural, and educational advancements continues to inspire the country as a whole.
    The event was graced by the presence of officials and staff from Raj Bhavan, dignitaries, students from various universities, and numerous esteemed guests. The celebration reaffirmed the commitment to fostering deeper cultural, social, and economic ties between the states, further strengthening the fabric of unity and diversity in India.
