    The Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, graced the special programme titled ‘Yoga Samavesh’, held today at Raj Bhavan, Gangtok. The event was organised by the National AYUSH Mission, Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Sikkim. This Yoga Samavesh with the theme “One Earth, One Health” was specially dedicated to differently-abled persons and was conducted as part of the 11th International Yoga Day.

    The Hon’ble Governor, reflecting his deep commitment to inclusive wellness, actively participated in the yoga session along with all other attendees. The Hon’ble Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Shri G.T. Dhungel, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Shri Prabhakar Verma, also joined the programme, further reinforcing the importance of promoting accessible health practices through Yoga.

    A key highlight of the event was the spirited participation of differently-abled children from two special schools, who engaged in the yoga session with remarkable enthusiasm, focus, and joy. Their presence truly embodied the spirit of inclusion and resilience that the programme aimed to celebrate.

    The yoga session was conducted by Dr. Sumiran Tamang, a certified yoga instructor, who guided the participants through various practices tailored to the abilities and comfort of the children.

    The event also witnessed the presence of senior officials, yoga instructors, and the officers and staff of Raj Bhavan.
