On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, visited the Prerna Sthal at Bardang today.
The Hon’ble Governor paid homage to the valiant heroes of the Kargil War, saluting their extraordinary bravery and patriotism that continues to inspire every citizen of India.
The Prerna Sthal was built by Raj Bhavan Sikkim in memory of the brave soldiers who martyred during the devastating flash flood of October 2023.
The Hon’ble Governor laid a floral wreath and offered prayers at the memorial, paying heartfelt tribute to the martyrs.
He observed a moment of silence in their honour and recalled their indomitable spirit and dedication to safeguarding the country.
कार्गिल विजय दिवसको अवसरमा आज सिक्किमका राज्यपाल ओमप्रकाश माथुरले पूर्व सिक्किमको बारदाङस्थित प्रेरणा स्थलको भ्रमण गर्दै वीर शहीद सैनिकहरूलाई श्रद्धाञ्जली अर्पण गरे।
राज्यपालले कार्गिल युद्धका वीर योद्धाहरूको असाधारण साहस र देशभक्तिको स्मरण गर्दै उनीहरूको बलिदान सम्पूर्ण भारतीय नागरिकका लागि प्रेरणाको स्रोत बनेको बताए।
प्रेरणा स्थल राजभवन सिक्किमद्वारा निर्माण गरिएको हो, जो अक्टोबर 2023 मा आएको विनाशकारी बाढीको चपेटमा वीरगति प्राप्त गरेका सैनिकहरूको स्मृतिमा समर्पित छ।
राज्यपाल माथुरले स्मारक स्थलमा पुष्प अर्पण गर्दै श्रद्धाञ्जली अर्पण गरेर वीर शहीदको स्मरणमा प्रार्थना गरे। उनले शहीदहरूका लागि एक मिनेट मौन धारण गर्दै देश सुरक्षाका लागि समर्पित उनीहरूको अदम्य साहस र योगदानको स्मरण गरेका छन्।
