14.08.2025 : Under the guidance and initiative of the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Raj Bhavan, Sikkim organized a Blood Donation Camp at Ashirvad Bhavan here today as part of the 79th Independence Day.
Under the guidance and initiative of the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, Raj Bhavan, Sikkim organized a Blood Donation Camp at Ashirvad Bhavan here today as part of the 79th Independence Day. The event reflected the Hon’ble Governor’s deep concern for the health sector. A blood donation camp was held with the support from department of Transfusion Medicine/Central Blood Bank, STNM hospital.
The Hon’ble Governor, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, encouraged the everyone present to come forward for blood donation and thanked all voluntary blood donors for their life-saving service, calling it an act of ‘seva’, sacred service to humanity. He said their selfless contribution not only saves lives but also brings hope to countless families in distress.
Members of the Raj Bhavan Pariwar, ITBP personnel, members from Sikkim Riders Club, Young Indians Sikkim Chapter and Young Generation Local Taxi Drivers’ cum Owners Welfare Association actively participated and donated blood during the camp.
Further, he interacted with the doctors and staff of the Transfusion Medicine/Central Blood Bank, STNM, enquiring about the current availability of different blood groups in the blood bank and whether such donation camps are regularly organised across all six districts of the State. He also praised the role of doctors and volunteers in ensuring safe and efficient blood collection.
Additionally, The Hon’ble Governor also presented certificates to blood donors for their outstanding contributions through social service.
आज सिक्किम के माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर के मार्गदर्शन में, 79वें स्वतंत्रता दिवस के उपलक्ष्य में राज भवन, सिक्किम द्वारा एक विशेष रक्तदान शिविर का आयोजन किया गया। यह शिविर एसटीएनएम अस्पताल, गंगटोक के ट्रांसफ्यूजन मेडिसिन विभाग के सहयोग से संपन्न हुआ।
इस अवसर पर माननीय राज्यपाल ने रक्तदान को “जीवन दान” बताते हुए सभी नागरिकों से इस पुनीत कार्य में भाग लेने की अपील की है।उन्होंने ट्रांसफ्यूजन मेडिसिन विभाग के अधिकारियों एवं कर्मचारियों से संवाद करते हुए राज्य में नियमित रूप से ऐसे शिविरों के आयोजन की जानकारी ली। साथ ही, उन्होंने रक्त बैंक में विभिन्न रक्त समूहों की उपलब्धता की स्थिति पर भी चर्चा की।
इस शिविर में राज भवन परिवार के सदस्य, भारत-तिब्बत सीमा पुलिस के जवान, सिक्किम राइडर्स क्लब, यंग इंडियंस सिक्किम चैप्टर तथा यंग जेनरेशन लोकल टैक्सी ड्राइवर्स-कम-ओनर्स एसोसिएशन, गंगटोक के प्रतिनिधियों सहित विभिन्न क्षेत्रों के नागरिकों ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया।
राज्यपाल महोदय ने उपस्थित सभी की सेवा और समर्पण की भावना की सराहना करते हुए उन्हें इस पुनीत कार्य को निरंतर जारी रखने हेतु प्रोत्साहित किया।
