25.09.2025 : Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shri Bhagirath Choudhary, called on the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, at Raj Bhavan today.

Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shri Bhagirath Choudhary, called on the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, at Raj Bhavan today.

The meeting centered on various progressive matters pertaining to the agriculture sector in the State, with a special focus on addressing the requirements of agriculture in hilly regions and terrain. Emphasis was also laid on strengthening cooperation between the Central and State Governments in this regard.

In addition, aspects related to farmers’ income enhancement and agricultural innovations were deliberated upon.

The Hon’ble Union Minister of State assured that the Central Government is fully committed to extending all necessary support to Sikkim in the field of agriculture.

The Hon’ble Governor appreciated the initiatives of the Central Government in supporting sustainable agriculture in Sikkim. He extended warm wishes to the Hon’ble Minister for a pleasant visit to the State and expressed hope that, with the continued support of the Central Government, Sikkim will further add to its laurels as a pioneering Organic State.

आज राजभवन, सिक्किम में माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर से केंद्रीय कृषि एवं किसान कल्याण राज्य मंत्री श्री भगीरथ चौधरी ने शिष्टाचार भेंट की।

इस अवसर पर राज्य में कृषि क्षेत्र की प्रगति, पर्वतीय कृषि की विशिष्ट आवश्यकताओं तथा केंद्र और राज्य सरकार के बीच सहयोग को और अधिक सुदृढ़ करने के विषयों पर विचार-विमर्श हुआ।
साथ ही, राज्य में किसानों की आयवृद्धि और कृषि नवाचार से संबंधित पहलुओं पर भी चर्चा की गई।

श्री चौधरी ने आश्वस्त किया कि सिक्किम को कृषि क्षेत्र में आवश्यक सहयोग प्रदान करने हेतु केंद्र सरकार पूर्णतः प्रतिबद्ध है।
