Smt. Gloria Namchu, Secretary, Cooperation Department, Smt. Jabi Thapa, Principal, RCS, along with other senior official from the Department called on the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, at Raj Bhavan today.
During the call on, the Secretary, Cooperation Department, extended a formal invitation to the Hon’ble Governor to grace the programme marking the “International Year of Cooperatives – 2025”, scheduled to be held at Raj Bhavan on 15th October 2025.
The Hon’ble Governor graciously accepted the invitation.
The Hon’ble Governor also enquired about the ongoing programmes under the Cooperation Department, Government of Sikkim, particularly those related to milk cooperatives and the involvement of women therein. He further encouraged the promotion and marketing of bamboo products through cooperative initiatives, with special emphasis on women’s empowerment.
The Secretary, Cooperation Department, briefed about the functioning and achievements of the cooperative movement in the State, emphasizing its pivotal role in fostering inclusive economic growth. She also elaborated on the initiatives undertaken by the Department to strengthen cooperative societies at the grassroots level and the efforts towards the empowerment of women and youth.
Present during the meeting were Commissioner-cum-Secretary to the Hon’ble Governor, Shri Jitendra Singh Raje, Registrar, Cooperation Department, Smt. Karma Ongmu, Smt. Pema Ongmu, Shri K.P. Sharma and Additional Registrar, Shri P.T. Lepcha.
आज सहकारिता विभाग की सचिव श्रीमती ग्लोरिया नामचु, आरसीएस की प्राचार्या श्रीमती जबी थापा तथा विभाग के अन्य अधिकारियों ने राजभवन में सिक्किम के माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर से शिष्टाचार भेंट की।
भेंट के दौरान सहकारिता विभाग की सचिव ने माननीय राज्यपाल को “अंतरराष्ट्रीय सहकारिता वर्ष 2025” के उपलक्ष्य में 15 अक्टूबर 2025 को राजभवन में आयोजित होने वाले कार्यक्रम में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में सम्मिलित होने हेतु औपचारिक आमंत्रण प्रस्तुत किया, जिसे माननीय राज्यपाल ने सादर स्वीकार किया।
इस अवसर पर माननीय राज्यपाल ने सहकारिता विभाग द्वारा संचालित विभिन्न कार्यक्रमों की जानकारी प्राप्त की, जिसमें विशेष रूप से दुग्ध सहकारी समितियों एवं उनमें महिलाओं की भागीदारी के संबंध में पूछताछ की। उन्होंने आर्थिक सुदृढ़ता हेतु महिलाओं की सक्रिय भागीदारी पर विशेष बल दिया।
माननीय राज्यपाल ने बांस उत्पादों के प्रचार-प्रसार एवं मार्केटिंग को सहकारी प्रयासों के माध्यम से बढ़ावा देने का सुझाव भी दिया।
माननीय राज्यपाल ने यह भी कहा कि सिक्किम की स्थानीय दूध से निर्मित चीज़ उत्पादों को राज्य, राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर ब्रांडिंग एवं मार्केटिंग के लिए विशेष प्रयास किए जाने चाहिए। साथ ही उन्होंने इस बात पर बल दिया कि सिक्किम की “पूर्ण जैविक राज्य” की पहचान को बनाए रखते हुए सहकारी संस्थाओं एवं एफपीओ के साथ मिलकर सतत विकास की दिशा में ठोस पहल की जानी चाहिए।
बैठक के दौरान सहकारिता विभाग की सचिव ने अपने विभाग की कार्यप्रणाली एवं उपलब्धियों की जानकारी साझा की।
