On the auspicious occasion of Diwali/Deepawali festival, the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur has conveyed his warm greetings to the people of Sikkim.
In his greetings, the Hon’ble Governor said, “Diwali/Deepawali, the festival of lights, inspires us to move from darkness to light and
symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. The lighting of lamps has a deep rooted philosophy in our Indian culture. Let us celebrate this joyous occasion by embracing the values of peace, brotherhood, and togetherness. May the blessings of goddess Laxmi bring us together to realise the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.”
The Hon’ble Governor emphasized
on “Vocal for Local” path by embracing local products, preserving Sikkim’s distinct cultural and economic identity and walking the path of Aatmanirbhar Bharat to realise the vision of Viksit Bharat.
The Hon’ble Governor further said “The festival does not only illuminate our households but also enlightens society with the spirit of righteousness and goodwill to contribute towards building a progressive and prosperous Sikkim.”
The Hon’ble Governor has appealed to the people of the state to celebrate the festival in an eco-friendly manner.

अपने संदेश में माननीय राज्यपाल ने कहा, प्रकाश और आभा के इस दिव्य पर्व दीपावली पर, मैं सिक्किम के सभी नागरिकों को हार्दिक शुभकामनाएँ प्रेषित करता हूँ।
दीपों का यह पर्व हमें अंधकार से प्रकाश की ओर, असत्य से सत्य की ओर प्रेरित करता है।
मैं कामना करता हूँ कि यह पर्व हर सिक्किम वासियों के मन में उजास जगाए, हर घर में सुख और समृद्धि लाए, और प्रत्येक जीवन शांति, सौहार्द एवं सृजन से परिपूर्ण हो।
ऐश्वर्य की अधिष्ठात्री माँ लक्ष्मी के आशीर्वाद से हम सब मिलकर ‘विकसित भारत @2047’ के संकल्प को साकार करें। ‘वोकल फॉर लोकल’ की भावना को अपनाते हुए राज्य की पहचान को कायम रखें, यही सच्चे अर्थों में राष्ट्र निर्माण की दिशा में हमारा योगदान होगा।
इस दीपावली, आइए हम न केवल अपने घरों को दीपों से रोशन करें, बल्कि अपने विचारों, प्रयासों और संकल्पों से हमारे महान राष्ट्र के भविष्य को भी आलोकित करें।
