08.03.2026: Governor extends International Women’s Day greetings

Sikkim Governor, Shri Om Prakash Mathur extended his heartiest wishes and greetings to all the women of Sikkim on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

Extending his greetings, the Governor said, “On the occasion of International Women’s Day, I extend my warm greetings to all women. Women of Sikkim are playing a significant role in various spheres of life. Their service is a source of inspiration for society. Through the 50 percent women’s participation in panchayat level has provided a strong constitutional foundation and active contribution to rural development.

The vision of a Developed India by 2047, envisioned by the Prime Minister will be realized by women’s power and participation. They are reaching new heights in all fields; politics, social service, administration, and business.

State women have continuously demonstrated resilience, strength and excellence in every field, contributing immensely to state’s growth and prosperity. May the radiance of Nari Shakti continue to guide us.

Let us reaffirm our commitment to creating a society where women are empowered, respected, and given equal opportunities in every sphere of life. Empower Women, Empower Nation.

अंतरराष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस पर माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर का संदेश

सिक्किम के माननीय राज्यपाल ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस पर अपनी शुभकामनाएँ प्रेषित की हैं।

माननीय राज्यपाल ने कहा,”अंतर्राष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस के अवसर पर मैं सभी महिलाओं को हार्दिक शुभकामनाएँ देता हूँ। सिक्किम की महिलाएँ शिक्षा, राजनीति, समाज और अर्थव्यवस्था के हर क्षेत्र में अग्रणी भूमिका निभा रही हैं और आज नेतृत्व, नवाचार तथा सामाजिक परिवर्तन की प्रेरणा बन चुकी हैं। हमारी माताएँ और बहनें हमारी प्रगति की आधारशिला हैं।

राज्य में पंचायत स्तर पर 50 प्रतिशत के प्रावधान से उनकी भागीदारी उल्लेखनीय रूप से बढ़ी है, जो उनके नेतृत्व और ग्रामीण विकास में सक्रिय योगदान का प्रमाण है।
यह गर्व का विषय है कि सिक्किम की महिलाएँ आत्मनिर्भरता और सामाजिक परिवर्तन की मिसाल बन कर उभर रहीं हैं।

आइए, हम सब मिलकर उन्हें और अधिक अवसर, सम्मान और सुरक्षा प्रदान करें, ताकि वे और ऊँचाइयों को छू सकें।
मुझे विश्वास है कि उनके परिश्रम, साहस और समर्पण से हमारा समाज और भी उज्ज्वल भविष्य की ओर अग्रसर होगा और विकसित भारत @2047 के सपने को साकार करेगा।
