Sikkim Governor, Shri Om Prakash Mathur conducted a comprehensive inspection of various development projects and schemes across Mangan District of North Sikkim today. The visit focused on assessing the on-ground implementation of key initiatives, projects and addressing local concerns.
The Governor is on three days visit to Mangan district which will conclude on 5 April 26. During the second day of the tour the Governor visited and inspected the Zema-II Bridge. He reviewed the ongoing 360ft long bailey bridge which is nearing completion.
Border Road Organization (BRO) official Lieutenant Colonel, Hemant Kumar briefed the Governor in detailed about the project like; work progress, technical aspects, present status and strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening operational capabilities across border regions.
The Governor lauded the effort made by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) stating that once completed, the bridge
bridge will greatly improve connectivity in border areas of North Sikkim and benefit the local people of the region.
Thereafter, the Governor visited
scenic holy Gurudongmar lake located at an altitude of 17,800 ft near the China border in Sikkim and also offered prayers at the holy lake. He also reviewed various development initiatives being carried out under operation “Sadbhavana” outreach of Indian Army mainly focused on development and infrastructure including constructing community halls, tourist viewpoints and utility facilities.
Taking further his tour, the Governor visited the ITBP Kerang Post (11th Battalion), situated at an altitude of 17,000 feet.
Later the Governor also visited Donkhyala Pass highest motorable forward post situated at an altitude of 18,400 feet and interacted with the troops and commended them for their exceptional dedication and resilience in the face of challenging conditions.
सिक्किम के माननीय राज्यपाल श्री ओम प्रकाश माथुर ने उत्तर सिक्किम के अपने दूसरे दिन के दौरे के दौरान कई महत्वपूर्ण स्थानों का निरीक्षण किया।
दौरे के दौरान राज्यपाल महोदय ने सर्वप्रथम ज़ेमा-II पुल का निरीक्षण किया। इस अवसर पर उन्होंने 360 फीट लंबे बैली सस्पेंशन ब्रिज का भी अवलोकन किया, जिसका निर्माण कार्य शीघ्र ही पूर्ण होने की संभावना है।
इस दौरान लेफ्टिनेंट कर्नल हेमंत कुमार ने राज्यपाल महोदय को परियोजना की प्रगति, तकनीकी विवरण तथा निर्माण कार्य की वर्तमान स्थिति की विस्तृत जानकारी दी। राज्यपाल ने निर्माण कार्य की सराहना करते हुए कहा कि इन पुलों के पूर्ण होने से उत्तर सिक्किम के सीमावर्ती क्षेत्रों में आवागमन सुगम होगा और स्थानीय जनता को भी लाभ प्राप्त होगा।
इसके पश्चात् राज्यपाल ने गुरुडोंगमार झील (17,000 फीट) का भ्रमण एवं निरीक्षण किया। वहाँ उन्होंने भारतीय सेना के मिशन ऑपरेशन सद्भावना के अंतर्गत चल रही विभिन्न विकास परियोजनाओं का अवलोकन किया, जिनमें कम्युनिटी हॉल, टूरिस्ट व्यू पॉइंट और यूटिलिटी सुविधाएँ प्रमुख हैं। इस दौरान कुछ अतिरिक्त परियोजनाओं का प्रस्ताव रखा गया, जिनमें मुख्य रूप से प्रेयर व्हील्स तथा सैनिकों की प्रतिमा शामिल हैं। राज्यपाल महोदय ने इन प्रस्तावित परियोजनाओं का पूर्ण समर्थन करते हुए हर संभव सहयोग देने का आश्वासन दिया।
इसके बाद माननीय राज्यपाल आईटीबीपी केरांग पोस्ट (11 बटालियन) पहुँचे, जो 17,000 फीट की ऊँचाई पर स्थित है।
इसके अतिरिक्त राज्यपाल महोदय ने आज डोंक्याला पास (18,400 फीट) का भ्रमण किया, जो मोटरेबल सबसे ऊँची पोस्ट है। यहाँ उन्हें यह जानकारी दी गई कि पिछले वर्ष तक यह सड़क ब्लैक टॉप नहीं थी, लेकिन इस वर्ष इसे पूरी तरह ब्लैक टॉप कर दिया गया है।
दौरे का समापन युमथांग घाटी के भ्रमण से हुआ।
